Is there junior manning in it? If so, you are going to regret it, as RAH will no doubt continue to lose pilots like any other airline.....

Dead head sounds really messed, not properly credited nor counted towards hours?

Did the union present this to the pilots or did the company release it? What is the unions position if not?

Those are some pretty big increases for a fixed revenue company. I would be quite concerned about the company's cash position...

The company's cash position is nothing more than a number on a balance sheet that is just enough to make certain that the company can't be the victim of an LBO.

It is something that can be easily manipulated with the purchase of new MX vehicles, increasing the parts inventory, early debt payments on aircraft, a $75 Million stock buyback program, and down payments on new aircraft....all of which RAH has done over the last few years.

The company's cash position is not an issue.

Since when are pilots company accountants? Why the ******* do pilots constantly concern themselves with how their contract impacts the company's bottom line?

Do you think RP management sits around when they cancel a flight and say, "That's a pretty big dent in this crew's paycheck for this cancel. I think we should be concerned about how he will pay his bills this coming month."

New E175s are flying for United under the Republic certificate beginning in August 2015
47 E175s on order, deliveries start in the summer with 2-3 per month
Shuttle America operates E170/E175s for Delta and E170s for United

Sorry to see a deal that doesn't even keep up with inflation. Eight years and this is what the negotiators obtained? What usually happens is the mediator pushes the Union to put the offer up for a vote and see what the reaction is from the members. You can and will do better.

An airline Captain for a regional has a market value of over $120,000 a year right now. The companies know that but don't want to pilots to figure it out. They are throwing out a few carrots and want you to focus on the carrots so you don't see the big picture. An 11,000 bonus doesn't mean much when you are being paid $4000 a month below your market value.

Just look at bottom lines. If the junior captain's compensation does not add up to a minimum of $120k, plus good medical, plus a good 401k with a large company contribution, and reasonable rates for overtime in addition to the 120k, then it should be an easy NO!

Notice how quickly a TA came about after the union filed to stop the new hire bonus! I preached stopping that for over a year.

Each TA that comes out will force the others to move up quickly. This is not 1981 when the airlines were laying off, this is not 1991 when the airlines were closing down and nobody could get a job for almost 2 years, and this is not 2008 when the economy crashed. This is 2015 when there is big demand and low supply at the rates they offer.

The airlines want to pay the newhires 15k bonuses so they don't have to pay the other 90% market rates. The airlines have illegally colluded as to what to pay pilots and have agreed to compete with each other with their worthless carrots. Tell them you are sick of the carrots and after 20 years of watching the salaries go down you want a steak and you deserve a steak. Friday night is steak night and that is what I am going to order.

Market value minimum. My 120k figure is probably very low.

You have to be kidding! How on earth can the airline pay us market rates when they just gave us 4 hotel rooms, in base, each month! That must add up to 160 a month! Did they tell you it is considered taxable compensation?

I was talking to the guy who mows my neighbor's lawn yesterday. ( I do my own.) He says he picks lawns without a lot of trees, no swing sets or other obstacles. He says he can do 4 lawns an hour at 30 a lawn by himself. Not sure what his equipment costs are. He doesn't do the work himself any more but keeps 3 crews going.

Looking at what he used to do himself that was 120 an hour. But he must know how to use that complex dangerous equipment. Then here is the liability of driving the truck from lawn to lawn down the street. What if he mows down some flowers? What if he hits a rock and dulls his blade? Might take an hour to change that blade! Why on earth would airline pilots expect to make $120,000 a year sitting on their butts drinking coffee and sodas when the operator of complex equipment barely makes more than that? Dream on!

For those drooling over the bonus money keep in mind they are generally taxed at a much higher rate. Figure you will lose 40-45% of it to the IRS and Union.
