BB is going to use his shiny new C-series to fly all the pilots he's going to hire to/from training.

So after the latest info about BB transferring United Shuttle aircraft to Republic does anyone take my previous theory with some credibility? I see Delta suing the hell out of shuttle and shuttle folding in bankruptcy really quick. Rumor is Delta has 90 EMB 190's on order. 20 are confirmed as of now. I see Bedford moving the aircraft in order to protect some of his product.

Delta would go after the holding company (RAH) and not just the shuttle certificate. Depending on how negotiations went this week Delta may just buy the 175s and let another regional staff them. This is probably BBs plan of negotiations continue being stalked. Most of the junior FOs would gladly leave RAH for a quick upgrade and better contract.

It's never a good sign when officers are gradually dumping shares of their company.

They aren't the only ones... Doug Parker sold something like 6.4% of his stock worth 4.1 mill just last week. When compensation is tied to stock options and there are warnings the market has topped... People sell.

Executives sell their stock based on parameters set in a 10b5-1 plan. If they sold it based on what they hear from day to day it would be illegal insider trading.

If Parker didn't sell that stock, it was set to expire making it worthless. He acquired that stock back in 2008 IIRC.

A 10b5-1 plan is not mandatory. It just serves as an affirmative defense against insider trading. And there are no limits as to when a 10b5-1 plan can be enacted, as long as the officers are not in possession of material information at the time of enactment. But the SEC was investigating those plans a few years ago because they had a very high "abnormal" return rate and were "well-timed" according to their investigation.

An officer can sell their shares on the open public market based on information that has already made public by the company. If he is aware of material information that has not yet been made public and acts upon that information, that is illegal insider trading.

Obviously if insider transactions were not a big deal Wall Street would not place such a large emphasis on insider activity.

Speaking of a 10b5-1 plan, Doug Parker exercised his Stock Appreciation Rights as laid out in the plan. They would expire worthless had he not exercised them.
