Most junior base is Pit. DCA, ORD, MCI, PHL are going to guys within a month or less. Pretty much everything but GSO is attainable quickly. MIA might take a little longer but I would imagine less than six months.

Wait to come here until there is a new contract. You're career will NOT be dammed by coming here, but there are better places to be in the current situation.

Regarding flights shifting around regional carriers:

Don't forget we declined a significant amount of partner assigned flying this summer. Losses for that reduction are about $15M so those flights are probably being allocated to other regionals.

Is rah still hiring about 1/3 of all applicants? Or have they started hiring those with a pulse?

Nothing personal brewski, but you're a complete moron if you go to work for Republic at this point. And it doesn't sound like you're doing it because you already live in base. This whole thread is filled with reasons why RAH is terrible...I mean, the damn thread is titled 'Wheels falling off RAH'. And you start asking about bases out of training...lol. Maybe that big shiny jet is just too much to pass up.

If you want to work there go for it. I enjoyed my time at rah, great people to work with, the 170 is nice with the average daily credit and easier lower leg days that it comes with compares to the 6 leg days on the 145 or 200 where a 17 hr 4 day is the average. As a new hire I got 14-15 days off and eventually 16-17. Yes, this company is far from perfect but so are other regionals. Some have hot reserve and junior manning where rah doesn't. Although rah doesn't have cancellation pay they have pay protection which means you get trip pay when you cancel if you deadhead or fly somewhere else during the reassignment period. I know RAH FO's that jumped ship for TSA and PSA captain jobs and they regret the move. There are probably better choices right now since the rah pay is near the lowest in the industry. I would look at CPZ or SKW first since we all go to work to make money but if you like the rah bases and still want to go for whatever your personal reasons are then you will be welcome there. I wish you the best.

RAH does have HOT reserve. It's just not "officially" used very often. Realistically, everyone is "HOT reserve" during those lovely four hour airport appreciation sits. If you're dumb enough to answer your phone.

I would have to respectfully disagree. Currently an FO near the top of seniority can hope for 14-15 days off. I would say 4 day average credit is around 20 hours. I bid in the top 3rd and I got 15 days off with 82 hours credit for July. That is with reduced flying from our code shares. As far as cancellation, you are correct. However I would say being reassigned or DHed is the rare exception. The majority of cancellations are weather or crew related and you simply lose those credit hours. I have been pay protected for cancellations in the area of 5% of my cancellations. It just rarely happens. I will agree that my time here has been enjoyable because of the crews, but I think every airline can that. It's not quite as bad as the Internet portrays, but it is steadily getting worse with no sign of relief. I will say this, with all the sincerity and emotion I can convey through an Internet forum, DO NOT COME HERE! With upgrade, pay, contract, reduced flying, poor management, and all the other negatives republic has to offer I just can't comprehend how someone would even entertain the idea of coming here. Even if it is for a base. Please research how often and how abruptly Republic will open and close a base.

Have they ever closed (and then opened) IND, PHL, ORD, EWR, GSO, PIT, DCA? Maybe MIA, DEN?
I'm not sure which bases you're referring to.
