Don't just look at the company's very limited highlight reel. The union sent out an update showing where the company was asking for legit concessions. Furthermore, a big reason the last TA failed is due to vague or inadequate language. If the items highlighted by the company do not have rock solid language behind them then they are worthless. If it is not good enough for my negotiating committee then it is not good enough for me. My negotiating committee speaks for me.

Edit: Also, you are not understanding the way debt works for a business like Republic. They have been making payments on aircraft for the last several years. During this same period they have become the 4th most profitable airline in the world! These payments are baked into the CPAs that they negotiate with their mainline partners (they get paid more per departure because they own the aircraft).

Boiled down: they do not need to make 100+ million in profit to break even. These costs are already on their balance sheets and they are turning a profit.

No, but they are too busy comparing their contracts to that of the other regionals and not looking at the big picture of what is happening. What good is a "regional airline leading contract" when every regional is suddenly making half of what the market rate is?

There are no pilots out there at the price that is being offered. I'm sitting at home because it is not worth getting out of bed to go fly for a regional salary. Who can afford to go to work at that pay?

What are they paying pilots flying RJs in Japan, Korea, China? It is now a world market for pilots. KDA - Know what you are worth, Demand what you are worth, Accept nothing less. KDA.

I've been told to expect that the pilots who have been with the airline a while can expect a 5 to 7% increase with a 21 to 22% over the course of a 5 year contract. The later numbers will take into account increases from getting cancelation pay. New hires and FOs in there first couple of years will get more to keep them from leaving so quickly.

If you take into account that the contract expired years ago plus inflation, it ends up being a pay cut from what the pay used to be. But we will be more competitive in getting new planes from Delta and United and the quicker upgrade I'm told should be considered a huge pay raise.

We also get a bonus if we can sign someone on, so if you are looking PM me and we can get the party started. Shinny jets! Glass cockpits! Free soda/pops! One % 401k matching! Quick upgrade for survivors! Feel the love and sign on!

Everyone here is terrified to rock the boat. We will take what we are given. While the others strike, we will grow.

As a pilot , you are not responsible of the debt that company has. Your financial responsibility is against your family, car financing , mortgage companies.

If you knew anything about balance sheets, that's the way the company finances the airplanes.

Take a look at the money that executives received since 2007 and tell me more about company not having any money.

Your NC is the best that is out there and they are protecting the scope. Otherwise you'd be getting furloughed last spring with 145s going to Wayne air.

Did you even read the union update? Health insurance concessions, vacation concessions, sick time concessions, etc. that's how the company pays for $40/hr new hire pay! Did you notice how low capt pay is in the company proposal?

My NC speaks for me!

So looking at the current financial status of my employer and UNDERSTANDING how to read a balance sheet, isn't being financially responsible when wondering if i am going to have a job in the future to pay my mortgage and support a family.......yeah, that makes sense to me.

Has anyone actually seen what the company is offering or is everyone just listening to what the NC says. Because, honestly, at this point I will take a "good" contract with fair pay, then going on and on for another year plus waiting for the NC and the company to finally agree, which may NEVER happen.

Take another look at that balance sheet by the way, aside from selling the aircraft we own, bankruptcy is a very real possibility, try negotiating a new contract with a company in bankruptcy..

How long have you been around in the airline industry? Ch. 11 CAN Be done anytjme. Mesaba did it when they were profitable.

once again, I need to get compensated for my work accordingly while we are hurting for pilots. Company doesn't even propose cola. F that.

All the guys on the negotiating committee are good guys. I don't have a dog in this fight anymore, but it sounds like BB is trying to divide the pilot group once again. The NC has a support staff that reviews the feasibility of their proposal, so I seriously doubt they are asking for a 130k signing bonus. Also why would the company be so upset about having 747 (or C300) pay rates ? I mean if they are not going to fly the airplane it doesn't matter! Trust you NC and not company propaganda! This goes for scope as well, and they will outsource your jobs if they can. Both scope and 100+ seat aircraft do not cost RAH anything, if they are ethical about their decsions.
