Quote: Unless you've traded or dropped some trips that lowered your credit below your award line value.

For example, you are awarded a line worth 85 hours..you do some trip trading lowering your line value to 80. Despite still being well above 75 hours, you've "adjusted" your guarantee by 5 hours. Your new guarantee is now 70 hours.

hey i heard you guys may be getting better pay rates with a 9-year pay scale for FOs. Is there any truth to this? it would sure be nice if it is to give us some leverage at Eagle, since our company is proposing to destroy our contract, chopping us to a 4-year payscale, and threatening to Comair us if we refuse. Anyone at Republic have any info if you guys are close to getting any improvements?

Quote: You'll never see a line worth 80 hrs. The min threshold is 83 hrs every month. They usually build you 83-88... So you don't get the option to bid for max days off. With FAR 117 our pairings are horrible. You'll sit at hotels for 30+ hrs and will only make per diem. Go to an airline with trip and duty rigs and cancellation pay
At least both pilots will get rental cars if the layover is over a calendar day. You won't be stuck at the hotel.

Right now, BB and WH are in a hurry to get a contract done for some reason. The company hired an arbitrator and managed to TA at least one section (the first one in at least 6 years). They are negotiating 5 days a week since the start of December but with the Airline Division and not our local. Everyone is uneasy as to what we will see come of this but no one has any real clue as to what it will be.

There has been an interesting development with our BOD:

A TA won't pass without it. Its the number 1 priority for the entire pilot group.

According to APC, you guys have 40 firm orders for C-Series 300 with deliveries in 2015. What the heck are you going to do with those? No scope allows those, right?

Maybe the IBT can start their own airline to fly them for with that awesome JetBlue or better contract that's just around the corner.

Anybody get hired lately? What certificate? How many in your class? I was in ground school a month or two ago and I asked if they were actively hiring and they said they hired 6 and had a 50% pass rate for shuttle.

Agreed. Cancellation pay, trip and duty rigs, and higher pay across the board (but especially on the FO scale) are the MINIMUM of what it's going to take to pass a TA, and even then, I don't think it'll pass on the first vote. The pilot group as a whole is disgruntled to say the least, with many saying that any TA that comes to vote they will vote no on just out of spite. BB and WH seem to be pushing hard for a new contract now which is giving many pilots on line pause as to what BB and WH are up to considering their lack of enthusiasm to negotiate the last 6 years. That being said, I would hope that whatever TA passes, it is a major step up for the pilots at RAH and all the regionals that are, or will be, in negotiations in the coming years.

I can't speak for the 9 year scale but I am pretty confident that it will be at least 5 years with 1st year starting somewhere in the neighborhood of $30/hr. I would like to see it extended out to 7, 8, or 9 years. I think nearly every pilot on property wants a TA that will provide leverage for all the regionals to stop the concessionary mentality of management in a period of profits and growth. Believe it or not, many of us RAH pilots stand with our Eagle brothers and sisters in this fight. I see the storm clouds forming and unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before AA pits RAH against AE. To fight it, I think both groups need to set aside any animosity that might exist and stand together against management at AA, RAH, and AE to prevent a needless whipsaw from happening.

No idea. And you're correct (according to my knowledge) that there is currently no scope that would allow RAH to operate the 300 for a mainline carrier under a FFD agreement, and I for one, hope it doesn't happen. It's my understanding that these were purchased to be used on the Frontier side, but now that Frontier has been sold.... only BB and WH know if or where these will be used. Is the C series even going to be ready for deliveries by 2015? I don't know where Bombardier stands with the certification process.
