On reserve we are required to return their call within 20 minutes. All reserves have a 1.5 hour call out to show at the crew room although most of the time they give us longer. Of course experiences may differ. Line holders have no obligation to return calls during a trip. They want to change that with the new and improved work rules Baxter alluded to.

@Vagabond....that's why I said "better," they weren't better they were just closer to industry standard of what other regional airlines already have in place. But RAH chose current book which was actually better than the proposed new work rules. Sorry for the confusion....just saying RAH in a 7 year expired contract still has some work rules that are great the way they are.

The most frustrating thing about RAH is they are so close to being a great place to work. Maybe that will happen with a new contract in ~10 years and get morale back where it was 6 or so years ago.
You mean not answering as a line holder? That's not unusual. As a reserve it is. But I thought somebody just said you have to call back in 20 minutes.

The 20 min rule, is a little non-std. I know ExpressJet gives you a 2 hr window to report. Lineholders aren't given phones or pagers, so there is no way to contact us--though they have tried through hotel phone calls.

They also tried to push through reassignment via ACARS, lineholders included.

While we are splitting hairs, the 20 minutes to call them back comes out of your 1:30 call-out period.

RAH stinks. And it IS as bad as advertised. Don't come here unless/until we get the industry leading contract we deserve. Just. DO NOT.

You obviously aren't familiar with the GoJet work rules. Or lack thereof!

Yeah I'm not sure if I can think of an airline out there that HAS to remain contactable as a line holder. At tsa it's reserves only and a ten minute call back window with a 2 hour call out.
