Go Louisville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (BTW Central KY chicks are hot)

I already have my ATP and am typed on another aircraft. If I were to accept a job with Republic on the E170, would I still be typed on the 170.

In other words are they typing new hire pilots at Republic on the 170 wether or not you already have your ATP with or without an already existing type?

I did a search of this forum but the answer was not clear.

Thanks in advance.

Just SIC "type" for those that already have ATP. Only new hires going for their initial ATP ride get the full type rating. Don't ask me to explain the logic. That's just how it is at this time.

This is correct, just the SIC type initially. It's my understanding though, that the PIC type will be done either before August or at the next PC. the reason for this, I was told, is because theree are not enough check airman available to conduct all the ATP/type rides for everyone. Don't know if thats the truth or not. Also keep in mind, if you go to the 170, you'll have to sign a 2 year training contract.

The PIC type will ONLY be for those going back in for their ATP once they have the mins. No type for those with ATP's already and going back in for recurrent.

Are new hires required to get their ATP license before starting class? Or will they get the ATP when getting the SIC type rating?
I have the ATP written and minimums, and I heard someone at my local airport saying that Republic will ask you to get the license before you start class, is this true? That would require a couple thousand dollars that I don't have

I believe the new reg will require you to have the ATP before you can be hired. Will Repub give it to you before the reg goes into effect? I hope not.... The company needs to take care of their pilots compensation and work rules first...

I would recommend going to a 135 outfit and get the rating rather than paying out of pocket.

Whoever told you that was wrong. New hires will receive their ATP and PIC type during their PC (at the end of training). Those that already have their ATP will only receive an SIC type.

Is there any real difference between the SIC and ATP rides? I was told that during an ATP ride it's a normal checkride with no retrains allowed. I know that during intial training many companies give you 2 retrains during your ride.....not sure if that would be the case in a SIC ride or not.
