Just to clarify.... The newly approved AQP program only applies to recurrent training, not initial at the moment. Now that AQP for recurrent is approved, RAH will start the process to get AQP approved for initial training.

What base are you wanting to get? You might or might not get that base for a while depending on what it is.

This is also true at Shuttle. AQP for recurrent only. Working on AQP for initial.

Awac - rigs , RAH - none
Awac - cancellation pay , RAH - none
Awac - decent reserve rules, RAH - terrible
Awac - better hourly pay , RAH - LOWER hourly pay

Dont be fooled by the orders for RAH i have serious doubts about how theu are going to staff them..

I wish you luck on the awac interview.

AWAC is a great company. To be fair, they have an all 50 seat jet fleet and a CPA that expires in a few years... With the current trend being 50 seat or less jets getting parked (see 9E, OO, EV parking 200s in exchange for 900s) it will be interesting to see what happens with them.

Also, Republic doesn't have true cancellation pay, however if you are reassigned you are pay protected for the greater of originally scheduled block or actual reassignment... Still sucks though. And as far as staffing... my understanding is in March alone they hired 70 pilots, with yet more to come. Right now it seems the only plane they struggle to staff is the Q400.

Hi Bunk...welcome to the site and thank you for your swrvice. Go to the home page of airlinepilotcentral. Over on the left side are a few links. I think one is airline101 or something like that. It explains some of that stuff. Good luck in the job hunt.

Hey Bunk, did you get any turbine PIC time in the Navy? If so I'd say to go to AWAC. Better pay & quality of life.

The only advantage to RAH is the upgrade time, and that can change.

Man, I get this strange feeling you're new at RAH. As in less than 1 yr here. To even remotely stick up for how the company does the whole REA/cnx pay is criminal. Yes, if you are reassigned to different flying in a parring, you get the greater of the two.

However, if anything gets cancelled you get squat. I was on a 4 day worth 24 hours in the fall, bunch of crap got cancelled. I sat in the PIT hotel for the last three days because the company told me I couldn't leave. I credited all of 8 hours for those 4 days I was on the trip.

Get back to me when you have that happen.

I am in disgust reading your quote. "but hey if you get reassigned they actually pay you for the reassign!!" like its some sort of great thing that we should be thankful for.
