[QUOTE=
A better regional like Horizon, Air Wisconsin, SkyWest, ASA/Expressjet, etc. are like getting an Angus Deluxe.

Eagle is like a Big Mac.

Republic is like getting a quarter pounder

[/QUOTE]

Nah, Republic is that crappy little burger off the dollar menu.

Horizon is like that McRib thing they make. Not always available, but the best thing on the menu when it is!

PSA gets told they are getting a shiny new toy with their happy meal in exchange for a 30% increase in chores and a capping of allowance at age 12. If you don't get a real job at 12 then you never get a cost of living increase in your allowance....also you now have to pay rent for your bedroom.

Furthermore after you get your shiny happy meal toy, Daddy Doug takes away your chicken McNuggets and tells you to eat ketchup and be happy.

Even though you are starving, Daddy Doug reminds you that McDonalds is just a stepping stone until Thanksgiving dinner.

GoJet is like getting the stale old french fries that got lost under the seat 3 weeks ago

Great Lakes and Silver is like getting the wrapper, but it's made out of sand paper, asbestos, and the tears of children.

In the end you're still at McDonalds, the question is how miserable is the experience for you?
Eagle is a Big Mac?- Are they discontinuing the Big Mac as well?

The wife plus kid thing is a bit of a rip off because it goes you, you and the missus, then you the missus and the family, so you pay the same for one kid as you do if you had 10 kids.

All regionals are different regarding insurance. You are likely looking at around $450 a month with a $3,000 deductible.

First year take home pay? Do the math. Assuming you sit the first 6 months on reserve at $23 an hour / 75 hour guarantee, that's $10,350. Lets say you average 85 hours a month in your next 6 months you're at $11,730 giving you a total gross income of $22,080. Take off your health insurance, social security, medicare, state and federal tax and you could net yourself around $14,000 big ones. (Less than most mortgages.)

Add a crash pad to the mix (about $3,500 a year) and you might even be left with over ten thousand bucks!

ALPA should offer some kind of financial advice for the guys that simply don't know what to do with all that money!

Now that reminds me, those guys want 2% of your gross income too! You might not get $10,000 after all.

Sorry.

What about monthly health plan deductions for single guys? As far as I remember, I used to pay less than 50 bucks per pay check at Avantair.
