146 Q400 CAs showing awarded, with the company line being that it's mostly staffed in terms of upgrades. 86 Q400 FOs showing as having bases awarded.
If we are shooting for 150 CA and 150 FOs, there is still another 65 FOs to hire. That said, there could be some new hire Q400 FOs that I'm not seeing because they don't have a base assigned yet.
Anyone coming to the Q400 risks being junior and stuck on the Q400 for a VERY long time. The current Q400 FOs are the most junior group in the system. The senior Q400 FOs will be the last to upgrade, meaning a VERY long wait for new hire Q400 drivers on the bottom of the Q400 pile.

Why would you not have choosen the Q? The most senior FO on the Q has not even hit 1 year yet. Talk about striking gold for those guys, getting to be senior from day 1. No other FO's can transfer from the Jet and bump you down, which also keeps training cost low helping the company save money and win more bids for flying. They still need at least 70 more FO's, which those guys will hold a line right off the bat. You just don't want to be the last 10%-15%. The music hasn't stopped yet.

A former colleague of mine went from working KZDV to flying with me when I was at great lakes. You're going to get your retirement money anyway - I'd say go for it. A little extra cash on the retirement and some flying.
He just went to skywest and is loving it - you may already know who i'm talking about.
That being said - DEN won't happen for a while....at least at RAH.

Actually only 12 FO's took the EWR bid (company wanted 16) but many were already on the Q so there were I think 6 total FO's from other certificates that bid across. That surprised me. The company thought by allowing FO's to bid across that would solve the problem of hiring FO's but it didn't.

The Q is a bad place to be as a new hire. No growth, no movement for a few years. Plus the training, program manager, and scheduling all suck. So... unless you want to be on the worst scheduled, future lowest paid, least growth, and poorly managed plane, I'd say go elsewhere.
Wait any place at RAH FO is bad, unless you want to explain to people, 6 years from now, why you're working under 2003 pay rates.

Nope. Karma is clearly one of illustrious IND mismanagers. Gee I want to commute for a decade at a regional so I can make sure I save the company training costs.
What a clown.
I don't even know where to begin so I'm out...
