Actually ready reserve is in our contract, company just has never used it. As big of a Charlie Foxtrot as the Q is, I wouldn't be shocked to see it. Stay FAR away from this hole.

Nothing new. Still on ice supposedly though they had a meeting two weeks ago to make it look like they were doing something.

The only thing that is in arbitration (not negotiations) is the Q400 pay rates. They met last Monday. No news on that, and likely it won't be for a while. The company uses the 50 seat pay scale for the Q, and we want it to be the 170 scale.

The reason they don't use it is because of the contract's requirement that they have to let us go home to get an overnight bag while sitting hot reserve for an overnight. With an hour and a half call-out, that could be up to 3 hours before you could show back up to the airport. Its quicker for them to just stick with normal reserves. The FAs don't have this provision and that is why they sit ready all day, every day.

If you looked through the "LBFO", you will see that the company took out that provision. Guess what they want?

I heard that RJET put about 15 people into what was promised to be a Shuttle America class, and when they arrived, were told that it had become a Q400 class.

Half of the class got up and walked out.

Can anyone confirm this?

While I have no idea if they really tried to bait and switch, I would honestly be surprised as that would be incredibly desperate. I think you would see them change their policy regarding waiting for a particular Airplane/certificate at the interview first.

Also, even if that did happen, the contract doesn't actually hold you to anything until completion of IOE (plus only the 170 has a contract these days). You are free to walk anytime until then. That's why the Q has been so terrible for them... People say yes, show up to class at less than a 40% rate, then quit while in class when they get a job offer flying a jet at another company. Can't blame them. No cancellation pay + Q400 = waste of your life
