Why move..?? You have got to be kidding or else suffering from the: Id rather fly a DC-9-10 but no one trusts me, so I settled for the CRJ syndrome. In the " big show", "main event", we refer to this as : IRFDC-9-10BNOTMSISFTCRJ syndrome. It's quite simple, you can either pick up your skirt and grow a pair or you can continue to squat when you pee. You want to fly a real jet??? Well then jump in one that carries turbo fans below the wings.(E-175).

And if the questions on the written come right out of the ATP test bank, because I am taking the ATP written test in a few days and if thats the case then it will be still fresh in my head. And second anybody have any insight on what are the likely classes to be held in Republic in month of September, assuming I pass the interview hopefully and most likely get a class date in September. I am preferring a LGA base as I will be relocating there in few months so Chathauqa and Shuttle America would be my primary choices for certificate options. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Just a little warning here....LGA on the Shuttle America side might not be safe. The general feeling is that Delta is going to begin using mainline 717s for the Delta Shuttle. Without that flying, RJET will most certainly re-evalutate it's need for and subsequently close the LGA base, displacing pilots to places like CMH and IND.

Regardless, are you willing to risk leaving your current job in order to accept a Shuttle America or Chautauqua class only to show up and learn that you've been mislead and now you're on the Q400 and about to be based in PIT?

If you're looking for the New York area, I'd highly recommend Expressjet EWR.

Can you change equipment if displaced? For example, if you are on the Chatauqua certificate and that flying gets reduced, could you bid to one of the other certs or would you just be furloughed?
In the past, RJET has not only furloughed, but FIRED out of seniority, as described in the latter scenario above.

Don't listen to those who tell you that "all regionals are the same."

Don't be an even poorer FO...

EWR=Traffic/WX mess

Cancellations=Cancellation pay
Cancellation pay at RJET=$0

One little detail to add to that, they fired probationary pilots out of seniority. Really disgusting stuff happens at RAH.

Ohhh, now I get it! I wasn't planning and DON'T plan on going to Republic. I rather work for Silver and get cancelation pay, duty rig, etc. I fell very sorry that it's so bad working for Republic. I hope you guy/gals get a good contract and better QOL

I'm at the bottom of the rsv list in ORD at Eagle with no line anywhere near in sight. Was thinking about bailing to Republic but I just can't justify the pay/contract they have in place. But they have a lot of movement and growth on the horizon. What should I do?

IF you come to rah, it will be very tough until you hold a line. Living in base with a line is somewhat tolerable- Just know that upper management HATES pilots and wants them to be uncomfortable.
We dont cancel alot but when we do-IT SUCKS! PM me if you want the full scoop. I think yur smart to look for other options with all the uncertainty at Eagle but think long and hard about RAH. Good luck man.

Oh really LGA on the Shuttle side is closing? Cause I see mainline doing some of the shuttle but definitely not all of it. We also do much more out of LGA than just BOS, ORD, DCA. But I digress, most of the overnights in LGA are stolen by IND and CMH crews. But with the new rest rules what do you think will happen to the outstations? If they start so early they can't fly as long therefore really unproductive trips. I think it will be cheaper for the company to grow the hubs in the future rather than continue this broken outstation model. Maybe Shuttle will shut down ATL in favor of a DTW or DEN or EWR base. But I'm just talking crap because this is as much a fact as your claim that LGA is closing.

Also does anyone know for a fact that the company tried bait and switch? You'd think our geniuses running the Union with the muffin man would trumpet this loud to future new hires. IBT sucks.

I, for one, would LOVE to see an end to the early shows and late starts that CMH provides.

And "muffin man"? I agree the Teamsters are terrible, but that nickname is hilarious!

Don't come to RAH. I thought their was no way this contract could be as bad as advertised, but guess what? It is!
