I agreed to work at RJET based on the information that was available at the time. I had NO IDEA how badly this company treats its people because at that time there were no threads on any internet forums warning prospective new hires. Also, many of the company's anti-pilot, union busting tactics have begun since I have been here.
I wish that someone would have been there to warn me off. I'm merely providing information for others to make a more informed decision so they know exactly to what it is they are "agreeing."
Of particular importance for prospective pilots to understand is how the company's outstation basing will drastically affect your quality of life, even if you happen to live in base.
I don't understand how anyone could have an issue with that.

Outstations suck. They ruin everyone's schedules. Even the ones that live in Indy and CMH. Yet people here have such boners for the model. I hope Part 117 causes a dramatic downsize of the outstations. I don't see how they'll be able to have crews start at 4-5am and still be productive on day 1. They won't be able to pad the staffing enough and I can't wait to watch the train wreck...

It's the same for ual mainline to get first. Must specifically list for it. Upgrades are not automatic like delta.

By comparison on Delta I took my family business class round trip from JFK to Tokyo and I paid taxes only ($38 a person). Same trip on UA out of ORD in business was ($50+50+$230 a person)... So UA travel is horrible at RAH.

Yes but currently RAH is the ONLY UAL Express carrier that has to pay by leg to fly. Everyone else including Commutair pays a yearly fee for themselves and passriders which allows unlimited coach. We have to pay $20 per flight domestic and $50 per flight + taxes international. Domestic first costs more on top of the $20 and International first costs A LOT on top of the $50.

UA is horrible everywhere...

Ok, I get it...Rebublic is a crap place to work. That said, can someone enlighten me as to FO pay, and timetable of upgrades, number of new hires they're planning right now. I'm sure it's been mentioned in here somewhere - hopefully someone will save me some reading time and offer a quick answer.

Honestly, basing your decision off of upgrade time and projected movement is kind of pointless. The upgrade time now will most likely not be the amount of time it takes you to upgrade. I've seen new FOs who were told they'll upgrade in a year, only to be furloughed a few months later. I've also seen the opposite. There are just too many variables involved to make an accurate prediction. Pick a place where you'll be happy if you're stuck working there for longer than you originally planned. Do your own research because if you base your decision off some quick answers you receive from a message board you'll likely end up regretting it.
