Quote: Training has significantly slowed, and JBU is catching up. IOE is the current bottleneck.
4-6 weeks out of JBU to get 190 IOE, 2-3 weeks for the 320 IOE. as of June 18th we will have hired a total of 285 pilots this year. The target depending on attrition is 350-400 total for the year. Then the same for the next 2 years.

That doesn't leave a lot of room for new hires this year. At 400, that leaves 115 more. I hope attrition picks up!

Actually thats about right I guess. 20 per class for summer and then 10 per class fall/winter.

Actually exactly opposite light in the summer then pick back up in the fall. Attrition has picked back up, 12 pilots have left since May 10th including one retirement. Before that no one had quit since the 18th of April.

Flying Elvis...

New to the forum, so I know I can't PM you. I'm currently at JB and just got the CJO from Delta, expected class in late July. I was mil before JB, just wondering if you could PM me on how the 2 weeks notice went and if there are any lessons learned.

Thanks

I'm not sure if you have better info, but I was recently in MCO and they showed us the slide of projected class sizes for the rest of the year. The 6/18 class is projected for 34 pilots (30 A320, 4 E190). The next class was just over 20 (with a similar split between bus/190) and then it dropped off to 10-14 pilots per class for the remainder of the year. There weren't a lot of E190 slots showing in the newhire classes (maybe 20-30 E190 slots total for the remainder of the year).

To add to that, the most recent class on 5/27 was supposed to be 10 A320 and 10 E190, but it wound up being all A320 slots in JFK/BOS.

It wasn't bad. Emailed them and let them know my date. They quickly responded but never sent me a list of returnable items. I got that info from another b6 bud that left for AA a month before I did. Honestly they are used to the two week notice.. No big deal

Flyby.
That is all of what I have seen as well. No more interviews until Sept. As the pool will be over 200 deep with yesterday's successful candidates. The 190 sims will be needed to upgrade all those 3 year guys going to the left seat.
