Quote: Anyone use the Premier Hat Co version of the hat?

My current employer has multiple hat vendors. Premier did a great job on that hat. What about Delta hats?
I have a Premier Hat. It's the same as the old Bancroft hats (same guys I think). Would highly recommend over Superior hats.
Would also add that it might be a good idea to bring a receipt or the actual hat when ordering the rest of the uniform. Vendors insisted that I had to order a hat from them even though I already had one.

headset, I've used the plantronics in the ear (molded earpiece) for 26yrs... so light don't even notice I'm wearing a headset. (honestly can't imagine using a community headset/mic... no matter how much you clean it!)

bag, don't get the monster, heavy metal frame bag like I did... feels like it weighs 20lbs empty! (unless you want to buy mine! )

don't buy long sleeve shirts or the overcoat. (I still have 6 brand new long sleeves and brand new overcoat hanging in the closet... thanks new-hire co-ordinator!)_

Yep. I did it when I interviewed. I can fly out of Amsterdam, Brussels or Dusseldorf.

Can anyone share the back story of the long sleeve shirts? It seems like this is a no-no based on some history and culture (e.g. "he's a long-sleeve guy").

Some people have attached the stereotype of "no-fly list" guys to those who wear long-sleeve shirts in the summer. In all reality, some guys may just wear long sleeve shirts, all year round, to ensure an added protection against the sun and harmful UV rays at altitude. (Or they're being polite by covering up a picture of a naked girl tattoo they received while in the Army or Marines. Doesn't apply to Navy types.)

Yeah, I tend to run a little cold (been in the sunbelt too long), and the sun rays are a concern for me. However, I am all about not being the tallest weed in the pasture as well.

Years ago there was no uniform shirt to speak of. Most guys just put their "church shirts" in the rotation. Lace shoes only.

Plus you don't need Kleenex to wipe your nose if you wear long sleeve shirts!

I'll show my toolishness and point out that, per the FOM, one cannot wear a long sleeve shirt as part of the summer uniform (without the coat) except to malaria endemic destinations. Hence the reason I've never bought a long sleeve shirt!

Quote: Can anybody substantiate the rumor of the 28 Apr class, or any others further out? I'd like to get an idea where we're at before I throw the turd in the punch bowl at work…
The sound...of silence. Anybody get an April 28 class date yet? Or anything in May? If so, and you're shy by nature, PM me. I'm trying to time an announcement to my boss...
