If you're looking % wise you won't ever get as much or even a third as year one increases, it's a huge change from 22/24 to 30....it's just not going to happen that you will get $6 raise.
The reason I'm inclined to vote no is because new hires will be getting a 50% raise once they raise it to $36, which they will. Everyone else is getting 1.5%. I'm sure there will be some improvements on the next one by voting it down just not nearly as many as the first package to this one. Trip rig seems nice but ask Air Wisconsin guys how often that comes into play. Will come into play even less for us now with MDG going up. If they really need pilots they should focus more on retention than this band aid fix of hiring as many guys as they can.
You want people to be interested in aviation again as a pilot you have to pay more than poverty level wages.
Personally I wish they would focus on QOL with hotels for commuting, free parking, excellent medical insurance and so forth...
At least then you feel protected and the money while not great is sustainable because of much better benefits. Then in a few years move to an LCC, major etc where money is a lot better.
Will all flying go back to the majors, who knows? I certainly don't so in the mean time QOL would be what we should focus on.
At some point an offer has to be accepted to put an end to this misery or those who are truly outraged with airlines and aviation should all walk away in droves for new careers or start a business of your own.
Then you will truly force their hand as there won't be anybody left.

If they start parking a ton of airplanes to increase staffing this place will become radioactive. Those classes of 70 will become 5 bodies no matter what you pay first year. Attrition would skyrocket. (See XJ)
If they want to keep the airline anywhere near the same size it is right now SGU needs to hire as many people as possible. The rolling limitations and attrition will start hitting hard early next year.
I'm not dumb enough to think we have any real leverage. However, I do believe the company needs go get people in the door STAT.

75% of the seats have less than 5 reserves, 6-7 have zero. Average packages have been exceeding what is sustainable for the rolling 1,000 limitation for a solid 6-7 months now. CRJ upgrade's have slowed because they need the FO's. I'd say this is a problem especially if "reliability" is the new "cost".

Any Denver based pilots here. How convenient is getting to the airport, public transport to airport, airport parking availability/costs.
Especially when you are on reserve.

Retro pay and 3.5%
Who cares if they are back in 3 weeks with another offer? I think the longer we hold out the better. Why do you think that management came back so expeditiously with offer 2?
What do we lose by voting this 3 year pay proposal down?
They want to press this proposal through for the purpose of stability. I am willing to bet my nads that within a week of this passing new contracts will be announced.
I wonder where flying would be shifted to if we continue to dig our heels in and say NO. ExpressJet, Republic, Air Wisconsin,...? Who has the pilots to pick up the flying?

If they can't pay us appropriately, park the jets and put us on the street.
Nobody is panicing about staffing but they aren't being stupid about it either.
