With respect guys/gals, I'm not known as a spelling or grammar Nazi and I know how aggravating it can be when people sweat the small stuff but please proofread. We ALL make mistakes and I have no problem looking past some such as there vs. their, to vs. too or were vs. where; but some of these postings are downright embarrassing. It only takes a second, gives everyone a more professional opinion of you and assists us in fully understanding the questions you're asking. Otherwise trying to decipher your code makes it difficult to thoroughly answer your questions.
Thanc u verry mouch. lol

Wear, where or where….. and yes I meant to type were vs. where, even though they sound different people still make this mistake. My point is, with these kinds of errors one can still understand the posters point. One simple missing or out of place word completely changes the meaning of a sentence or ones point. I look past wear vs. where but a simple proofread is all it takes to make sure your questions or the point you're trying to get across is clear.

I got hired by Skywest with just barely over the minimums at the time, no 121 experience, and no internal recs. My entire new hire class of 12 were all CFIs with no turbine time. I doubt Skywest is turning down perfectly good applicants because they have no 121 time. There has to be something else they're seeing that they don't like.
I interview at regionals with 747 FOs who want to keep a job, any job.

RECENTLY is the key word. I highly doubt it.
The HR woman herself said for the last few years they haven't had much of a need for CFIs.
While I appreciate advice and personal experience, this is a MASSIVE surplus of pilots, and I think the time has passed where someone can screw everything up and win them over.

That, and earlier this summer, I argued that there was no hiring on Skywests's site, and I was threatened with having people find my resume out of the stack.

BTW, I bet most regionals would rather hire a 1500 hour CFI over a 747 FO due to the fact that the 747 FO will have the opportunity to bail far sooner.

You guys seriously need to think about who you’re talking too. We are SkyWest pilots and, although we won't admit it on these boards, a few of us actually take part in this process.

My information is dated but the last I knew there was plenty of jet and TPIC time showing up for interviews (read being invited). Since they are only really starting to hire again since my info was "new" info, that means guys have just been waiting and building that TPIC in the interim. I am sure skyw has a bit further to go before they feel a pinch.
