Disregard. Found my answer elsewhere.

Double occupancy? Is there an option for single occupancy at SkyWest like at some other regionals (for instance - pay a certain % of rate for the room)? My wife says I snore like a friggin grizzly bear and I don't want to deprive a fellow classmate of sleep during training.

You can opt for single occupancy and pay the difference, but it's not cheap. For my CRJ class they said it would be about $1900.
Apparently, not all the rooms are alike, so some rooms have individual bedrooms for each person, and some have one individual bedroom with the other occupant sleeping on a bed in the common area.
Cheers,
Chowmi

I just finished reading all 398 pages of this thread to learn as much as I can about SkyWest. Overall sounds like most pilots are happy.

During the course of all these pages there were several acronyms used that I didn't understand. Could someone tell me what these mean; SJS BHO AAG?

I think BHO might be "block hour override" for flying the 700 or 900. If that is the case, does that mean that for every hour you fly the larger plane you get a couple of tenths of an hour of pay?

The other two, SJS & AAG have me stumped. Could someone let me know what these mean and a short example or explanation?

Also, could someone please give a little overview of the pay issue you are voting on? I am anticipating a class date soon and just want to be as informed as possible. Thanks!!!

I'll help you with SJS. Stands for Shiny Jet Syndrome.

Example: I want to fly jet despite poor work rules and crappy pay.

BHO is Block Hour Overide, for every hour I fly the CRJ 700 I get 106% of my base pay and for the CRJ 900 I get 108% of my pay.

And I think the AAG is for American Airlines Group. the new American.

I bet skywest management is beyond psyched over Great mistakes pulling out of their EAS contracts in MSP. Sounds like a good place to put a couple 200's headed for the desert

That's correct. It stands for Block Hour Override. It's kind of a controversial topic at Skywest so you'll hear it talked about quite a bit. For every hour you actually fly the 700 or 900 you get a 6% or 8% override on your block time. If you're scheduled to fly a 900 but the flight cancels you only get 200 pay. If you're on a 700 or 900 trip and there's a deadhead in the middle of the trip you only get 200 pay for the deadhead.

BHO started as a "temporary revision" that has overstayed it's temporary welcome. Much like ready reserve.
