Brother, we don't wear anything but helmets in fighters. I do have a cheapo pair of headsets, probably 30 years old, that I used in the very distant past when flying light aircraft. USAF heavy drivers might have headsets (I don't know if they're issued headsets or not), but we fighter folks just wear the helmet. Hard to attach NVGs and JHMCS to a headset!

If I am correctly interpreting FAA guidance, TSO is recommended, not required, but some airlines have elected to adopt this standard for their SOP.

Does SkyWest require that headsets be TSO approved/compliant? I have a set of Lightspeed Zulu's that I really like, but aren't on the TSO list.

No TSO for SkyWest, most of us use UFlyMike (the unTSOd one)

For the love of God turn up the gain on your mic! 9 times out of 10 ATC says "say again" it's because someone was using a UFlyMike!
Also, I think long ago there were only two specifically authorized headsets in the SOP. A Telex and a David Clark if I remember right. But I can't find that written anywhere anymore so I think it's gone.

The latest fleet plan filed with the 1Q results shows that 5 will be leaving by the end of the year. They commented that they were 'natural' retirements. However, I heard that they aren't enforcing the seat locks for the Bro Fo's and let them transition to RJ training early and the last two 120 classes have been cancelled and turned into RJ classes.

Is this because you are beginning to have some trouble filling classes for the RJ or other reasons? Are you all seeing a lot of attrition that would finally create some movement? Would love to get a shot there but just can't see myself commuting to reserve in a junior base for 18 months or whatever it may be now.
