Give us FO's a break. I get blisters from doing packs on, probes on all day long.

The FFOD taxi check as a brasilia FO would give you an aneurysm then.

Richard Anderson, Delta CEO is on CNN Money today and stated, "Well we're going through a massive transformation right now at Delta and we're turning Delta back into a mainline airline, what that means is we're upgaging the fleet, and we're growing the mainline airline, which is airplanes flown and operated by Delta employees, and dramatically reducing the connection operation, rather than what has happened in this industry in the last 25 years which is we've put too many people on 50 seat jets for 1000 miles." Why - Economics of the airplane, customer expectations, and market we would have served with 10 50 seats replace with 6 of a larger airplane.

With fewest canceled flights, Delta wins best title - Aug. 8, 2014

The DOT transportation statistics bear this out. Mainlines are moving their operation BACK to mainline and away from regional. They know they can't get enough pilots, they know they can't keep paying these rates, they know they can't control the regionals as they begin to fail and they recognize that there is more efficiency and dependability (less moving parts so to speak) in a mainline only operation...

Listen for yourself. That's why I posted the link.

The morons who say if you just talk to so and so she can make it better, are just dumb, plain dumb. Reserve is a hades that makes an Alabama chain gang look like fun.

Here are some things that made reserve more enjoyable:

Learn a 2nd language for FREE!
DuoLingo.com
Then plan a non-rev trip and go practice and experience another culture and meet people! I'm headed to Austria this fall to see a friend and practice German.

Learn about almost anything with iTunes University (also free):
https://itunes.apple.com/us/genre/it...40000000?mt=10
Curious about art/music/architecture/biology/psychology/marketing?
Learning programming to serve as a backup to an airline career.

NetFlix - yeah, we all know about Netflix. Its awesome.

Billpay/other crap: all that stuff you'd usually have to do at home can be done sitting on reserve, so on your days off you can focus more on enjoying being at home.

Get a 2nd job that can be done from anywhere. Spend a few hours googling online jobs, you might be surprised. Made almost as much at my 2nd job last pay period than from SKW sitting reserve (still on 1st yr FO pay). Didn't work on OFF days either.

Having come from flight instructing working six 8-14 hour days per week, I'm really enjoying having all this time sitting on reserve to do all this stuff.

I wish I had known about Mechanical Turk when I was on reserve at SkyWest!

All because of one jackass on this thread? If there's a bunch of animosity between crews, it's news to this line pilot.

I've flown with only one single captain in 3 years that I couldn't stand. The funny part is he actually likes me because I chose not to be a jackass back to him and I played by his rules. I don't think he has any idea that I bid avoid him.

I'm not sure where some of the people on APC come from but I haven't flown with a single person who is outwardly like that in person.
