I appreciate the reply. Hopefully we can get some other folks to chime in. They're making me think I have a choice right now. If I actually do have a choice which is the smart move? I know I could use the search function but they want to figure something out in the morning so I'd appreciate some quick input.
Your in-base seniority will likely rise much more quickly on the CRJ, simply because the ERJ in general is more senior and there are zero FOs with ERJ to CRJ transition bids. There are some CRJ folks wanting to switch into the ERJ (and there'll be even more if fleetwide DL benefits ever happen). So as that happens you'll see your relative seniority get worse if you take the ERJ.
But all that said, I'd take the first available class, no matter what.

There is really no accurate way to decide what the right choice choice is right now. I chose the CRJ because I thought I could be based in Denver quickly. I'm not complaining but almost five months in only one person was awarded Denver last month while the ERJ award was very junior. (I know I'm very junior too)

Thanks a lot guys. If I have a choice I'll stick with the CRJ since I'm already in the middle of systems. Just want to know want I'm getting into if they actually do force me over to the ERJ.

You're in the middle of systems and they're asking you to switch to the ERJ?!? Wow, that's one I've never heard before.

Are they just trying to fill a spot? I start crj ground on the 5th and they asked me today if I wanted to switch to a erj class on the 1st because they had an opening.

Yes sir. I got the impression that this is a unique situation. I also feel like I'm being offered the illusion of a choice. If they can't get anyone else to accept it I think a couple of us are off to the ERJ.

They're calling and offering ERJ slots to the current CRJ class, should we take it?

I should also point out that the company is fat on ERJ reserves, yet us CRJ guys can never, ever drop a single trip because of 'insufficient reserves.' In 2 years flying the line I have been able to drop 2 turns.
Not 2 trips. 2 turns.

I would be seriously ticked if I was halfway through systems (the worst point in training, IMHO) and I then was told to switch to a new airplane and start systems all over again. Sheesh.

West of ORD no one can drop trips really on the ERJ as most bases are below min reserve or right at min reserve. NorCal and SoCal are run the leanest, so no one can really drop trips in those bases on the ERJ either.
