Skywest v2.0

Hi guys sorry to keep asking questions... I was told by the nice lady at the recruitment event that I attended and interviewed at, and by someone on this forum, that the ATP- CTP course was paid for ( which is true ) but I was also led to believe that I would be paid during this time frame. I was led to believe that I would be paid from the recruitment department, and from some of *your* responses on this forum. However, when I asked the guy in charge of my ATP-CTP course he informed me that I would be paid starting my ground school in indoc. If that is the case, I screwed up royally in quitting my part 91 job. I am just trying to plan put some things finically for my family, not trying to make waves. Anybody have any input? Thank you.

Math? We continue to grow the ERJ fleet. It really isn't that hard to figure out. Yes, senior guys continue to transition over, but you will reach a point when the majority of those guys have already made the jump. We also have more and more guys who thought they were lifers make the jump to the legacies. The ERJ upgrade actually dropped below the CRJ for a short time a year or so ago. It's really a simple numbers game.
the reason it dropped below the CRJ a year ago was because we didn't have the Delta contract yet and you would of had to go to ORD to upgrade on the 175.

My bet is the CRJ upgrade settles right in around 2 years and the ERJ comes down to around 2 1/2. All this just based on trends, aircraft deliveries, and some WAG.

Here's how my situation worked.
CTP Dec 7th
Ground Jan 2nd
Paycheck after Jan 15 payroll period with a total of like 88 hours or something. Didn't get my paycheck until Jan 20th...but I did have a long break from CTP to ground.
I know it was the same for a few classes ahead of me as well. Not sure why...I just assumed it was so people didn't get the CTP certificate then leave with a nice small check.

Nope you aren't paid in CTP. You get your first paycheck after the first payroll period AFTER you begin ground. You'll be back logged for the hours.

You do get paid for CTP it just depends on where you fall in the pay cycle as to when. SkyWest has the money to properly pay crews for work.

Entry-level 121 aviation (ie regional FO) is not, and has never been, a "real Job" from a compensation perspective. It's more like a paid internship. The pay is much higher than it was ten years ago (so is COL), but it's still more stipend than real compensation.
It's not going to allow a grown adult with family to live a normal life (unless you're in a really low COL localation). You must have a plan for that...sugar-momma, retirement from mil/LE, trust fund, ramen, mom's basement, living-in-a-van-down-by-the-river, etc.
