People can say what they want about SAN or BOI being the next bases to open, but I'll tell you right now that it will be ATL. DTW and MSP crews have tons of pairings that start with a deadhead to ATL, you fly for 4 days and then deadhead back. Our flow board even has tail numbers that state they are ATL based aircraft. ASA is losing all 50 seaters and shifting their remaining dual class fleet to NYC. Yes, 9E has an ATL base opening in July but they cant cover all of that flying.

So with lane splitting, yes, I completely exclude traffic. 😁 Besides. Compared to lots of other places San Diego traffic is nothing. |

I was there around 3 years ago. I'm native from the D.C. area where the traffic is literally soul crushing. And that isn't hyperbole, after so many hours stopped on the highway you begin to think "Is this really what life is all about?".
But, this is a Skywest thread! I'm not sure about Idaho, but San Diego seems like a fantastic area due to the weather and convenience when it comes to getting to said base. Since this is about Skywest and not motorcycles, let's get back to company talk. How does this announcement affect CRJ vs. ERJ in terms of new hires? I've been lurking for a while now and recently it seems like the company is trying to get people in on the CRJ side and that the ERJ is hard to get at the moment. Will this announcement mean that ERJ will be a possibility for new hires? |
