No... all timing for me. Just worked out that way.. just like the guys before me that left and voted in the “deal me a ace” ect.. pattern will keep going and going. Keep your ear to Denver.. sapa meeting going on as we type. Or maybe your typing from it....

Yeah, I cannot wait. I am sure they are discussing sign in bonuses and / or major raises for 1st year guys.

QOL? too complicated. Let's do it outside any negotiations when there is no incentive to be serious about it.

Skywest v2.0

Pointless. The regional system is designed from the ground up (well actually it somewhat evolved over time) to keep costs down. No amount of wailing, chest-beating, pontificating, unionizing, etc is going to change that.

It would take a national union with one list to break the whipsaw, but even then the ultimate result would be mainline absorbing some RJ flying and eliminating the rest.

You can fight epic battles for a few %... but x% of not much is still not much.

Trying to win a game that is rigged to begin with is tilting at windmills (Vegas would LOVE you guys). Better off playing a different game. The good news is that almost anyone will have the opportunity to move on soon.

Or there could be a pilot pay shortage and maybe a true pilot shortage if they don't start paying us better. And what helped that shortage? No national union, well other than ALPA, needed for that. Everyone is raising the bar, air Wisconsin, endeavor, AA wholly owned, etc. But it's pointless, right? There's a reason why every single regional pays a real sign on bonus (no type rating required, and real retention bonuses not tied to profits, hours worked, number of pilots) except for Skywest. The game has been re-rigged in our favor, now do something about it!

You guy. Endeavor hasn’t even voted on it yet. And lets see what comes out of the October sapa meeting (going on right now).... give it time boys and girls...

That's a nice sentiment. But you guys should be leading the pack, past compensation plus $1, at least. But every pay package sapa comes up with falls WAY short. So why would you expect anything different this time? Hopefully you are right.

The only thing happing in that meeting is figuring out more ways to give money to people who don’t work here yet. It’s sapa’s new m.o..

Exactly. I am on track to making $60k this year as an FO, and I checked to see what I would make as a senior ERJ FO, and I would make close to $65k - $70k year 3...not including bonuses. I will be upgrading though. I am thankful that I am at SkyWest and not at a burning dumpster fire like Endeavor.

First year FO here with take home of 1030-1200 each paycheck with the cheapest medical I could get. Nowhere near trajectory towards those numbers year end.

I know of a few fos that are leaving for 9E. And even one going to air whisky. I know we lose Capt's every month, but didn't realize that we do were leaving.

You must be doing something wrong. How the math works, idk haha. I've been on third year pay for since May and blocked about 540 hours coming into Sept grossing roughly $45k, wouldn't be surprised to be just shy $60k by the end of the year. I've also spent 11 weeks out of the country this year. OO is solid, so quit *****ing. I love my job security.

That is pretty typical for a new hire everywhere. Being in training for 1/3 of the year is rough. , then add in a few months of reserve pay and take a way few bonuses (add a few too).

after that grossing 60k here as an FO is pretty easy now. (Or forced on you)

I know, man. First year pay is god-awful, despite that it is higher than it has ever been in the past. First year pay for a first officer at Envoy and Endeavor and well even Compass now is higher than at OO since they are offering a $17k bonus on top of $38/hr is higher than what we have.

I almost bailed my first year for an AA wholly owned, something came up and I cancelled the classdate and remained here. I would not be surprised if we lost year-one FOs to other regionals....

Nordopilot 10-11-2017 02:51 PM

Yeah, I'm a 2nd year FO on the ERJ. Should make about $65K this year. First year is rough, though.
