I have no doubt SkyWest guys and gals are awesome to work with but at the end of the day you gotta take care of yourself and work for someone who pays you what you’re worth if not better. Good luck and hope to see you at the majors soon! Take care

Yeah I've been here at Skywest for about 6 months, ORD 175 FO. The amount of money I could be making there at Endeavor along with only 1000 Turbine required for upgrade as I'm a Restricted ATP make them a no brainer. I've already talked to many new hires and they are considering making the switch also. I don't know how Skywest will fill the new planes. I'm sure they are banking on the west coast bases attracting people.

Yep, just look on the surface and Endeavor looks good......until Delta shuts them down in a year or two. You want to get paid what you're "worth", then get your time and move on to a major or go Netjets or Flexjet. Funny thing is, many on here probably don't have squat for type ratings or turbine time, yet they think they're worth $100K a year plus. This industry is screwed.

So you're a restricted ATP, no previous flight experience, no type ratings on jets, got on 175s, and will probably upgrade with 1500 or less time with Skywest, and you're already b****ing about the job you have? This is the problem with today's regionals. Unappreciative a**hats who think they deserve everything right up front instead of focusing on getting their flight time and moving on. Go ahead, move over to Endeavor and fly CRJ-200s and get cut when Delta shuts their precious "wholly owned" entity down next year or two after the next economic downturn. Don't believe me? Fine, look at what they did with Comair and ASA. Oh, but wait, they pay BIG bonuses and just passed a big TA. Ok, and Daddy Delta doesn't care. Endeavor is still a regional and subcontractor at the mercy of ONE major carrier. Think about that for a minute. Whatever, if you're flying new 175s for Skywest and already hate being here, move on.

Guess what, I've only been here a year and a half, but not complaining about what I have. I remember when it was tough to find a stable flying job. Go ahead, support the whiners and thumbsucking complainers about getting the opportunity to build time and experience at a regional before moving on.
I've flown in several other types of 91 and 135 operations. This is a breeze.

Look at how much flying SkyWest does over any other regional and tell me how you guys aren’t the highest paid regional pilots? You guys literally bend over for your manegment for Little pay raises just so you can fly more jets and make your CEO more money without him giving any back to y’all. Even if SkyWest is a stepping stone there is NO reason you should be ok with bare minimum pay for what we do as a profession. No excuse whatsoever. We all together as pilots deserve atleast respectable pay even while building our time in this industry towards the majors and now SkyWest is on its way to the bottom once again. Sure be upset with what I’m saying but at the end of the day you’re ok with subpar wages just so you can continue flying more and more jets so you can build time and move on and that’s wrong. We should all be in this together making pay and QOL better for everyone else below us that comes into the airline industry.

No, actually I'm not mad at Skywest. I get tired of young, inexperienced, thumbsucking whiners coming from instructing in 172s to jets complaining about the job they're hired to do. Too bad they can't see how good they have it now. I wish we'd go back to the days of having to have 3,000 plus hours TT and 1,000 multi before even getting looked at. Weed out the little babies from the ones who've worked their butts off building hours and experience.

What all you guys don't understand about Endeavor (since that supposedly seems to be the top dog of today's regionals) is that Delt can at ANYTIME drop them like a hot rock and they'd be on the street looking for a job. Skywest isn't perfect by any means, but it's a freskin' subcontractor airline.
