Xjt has closed 6 in less than that time. And three more to come on the Asa side.

This is nothing new. Air Wisconsin pilots should be mad at every regionals in Denver (in the 90’s the owned Denver) .. And Mesa should be made at Republic for there CMH base after Mesa lost its America West flights there... This trend will continue over and over.. its the “life cycle” of the regionals...

The difference is that neither air Wisconsin losing Denver nor Mesa losing cmh, etc were the result after being bought by another regional.

Sorry I’m being dumb but can’t see on the recruitment page anything on Sim time. I have seen in FAR you can count up to 100hrs in the Full Motion Sim so long as it’s 121 related, iv just no idea how much time you spend in the Sim in training which could count towards TT?

I’m hoping this will be a non factor, but thought I’d ask anyway.

Thank you for your replies.

Go back and read all of the ATP airplane aeronautical experience rules, pay particular attention to time in category/class.

I’ve heard (but been unable to verify) I could apply with 1475hrs (all flying) and the company does 25hrs of sims that count towards the 1500hrs for the ATP requirement. Also heard 10hrs mentioned. Can anyone clear this up?

Thank you!

Technically you can do 1465 TT using the 10 hours CTP + 25 hours of training....but they'll really be looking over your logbooks if you are at the razors edge. This is assuming you have no other SIM time as you can only apply a max of 50 hours SIM to your TT. Try to get at least 1475 TT minimum, but really just get as much as you can just in case. 1465 TT is doable for some.

Also, ensure you have 75 hours instrument IN AN AIRPLANE. My simulated instrument time was healthy but once I subtracted simulator (IE: Frasca 141) it took a good hit. I still had around 85 hours but it was much less than I initially thought.

Hope that actually answers your question. I was in the same boat a few months ago and remembered seeing the question asked repeatedly and the only responses were "figure it out yourself" and "that question gets asked all the time!"....I kept thinking "If someone would actually give a real answer perhaps people will stop asking!"

Anyone timing out (1000 in 365)?

I will be next month. Awarded 99.53 hrs block this month. Same with months before. I’ll gladly enjoy my forced time off. I want people to come to SkyWest so staffing gets better but I also don’t want people to come here cause it’s not all “sunshine and rainbows” like everyone seems to think.

It's rolling 365. I hear they'll make you pay up Vacation time or make you do miscellaneous office work/ stand ups.

They can't make you do office work (unless you're an FA). They might offer to pay you to do office work, safety audits, etc.

They can't make you use vacation.

You wouldn't be legal for standups if you timed out... that's actually still 121 flying.

They don't pay your guarantee. If you worked that much, you shouldn't need it.

I've heard they make you pay for your benefits (that would be BS if true).

The rolling part leads to pbs (not awarded) giving you whatever it wants as trips from a year ago roll off.

I was always able to get >76 (<80) assigned while I was rolling into it so I don’t know if this is true but at the time 76 hours was guaranteed as long as you didn’t help the company out by picking up trips in the proceeding 365.

Thank you! This answers it. I haven’t counted any Sim time as it’s a full motion military sim which I use, but got a feeling it doesn’t count towards 121, so all my hours are aircraft based.

So looks like I’m right ‘on the edge’ now with couple of months left to go.

Thank you again, hopefully your answer helps out other people looking in here, can be a scary place to post Noob questions!
