And the only aircraft in short term agreements (120 days) are the 53 pro-rate crj200s that can be shed quickly for staffing.

They will up pay and bonuses before they shed the 200’s...

1%.
That is all.

Literally.

Maybe .... maybe not.

The point is that they have options - which is always a good thing. Specifically for those folks who are all in on SKYW.

Precisely. Why would they shed the flying with the highest margin?

Have you seen feild of dreams... joking. But how will the small regionals (600~ pilot size) survive. The majors will hire that many in under a month soon!! Were all screwed. Doesn’t matter if its SkyWest or Compass. Majors will hire over 19,000 pilots in the next 10 years.. game over for all of us.. or game on for all of us going to the Majors..

idk about 600 a month, that's 7200/yr. There are some figures in the United thread that show the updated retirements for UAL,DAL,AA,SWA,FDX,UPS and the numbers are in the 2-3k range from 2022-2028. So definitely substantial numbers, especially if they are trying to grow simultaneously, but nothing astronomical. It's the cumulative effect of hiring year after year that will be what guts the regional, if it happens. But we're not in a static environment. There are lots of new recruits filling up classes month after month. The waterwheel is simply turning faster.

They'll probably do $7,500 for all pilots to start before they touch the pay rates.

Don't ask me. That's just what I see my friends at Envoy saying. I think they're simply just doing it for a limited time maybe.

I was just looking at that. Looks like pilots DO grow on trees. This is going to be interesting.
