Of course they only care about $ signs. But that doesn't mean that they do not watch the enablers.

Having passengers helps. Having people pay a premium for a more desiarable product helps. Not having labor unrest helps. And the list goes on.

Yup. Straight out of the system wide RSR for December- CRJ growth comes to an end by early Jan.

I would be willing to bet that you guys are going to hit some calm waters here soon with the growth and new orders.

People say that every year. Regionals grow and regionals shrink. Overall, when you factor in Xjet, SkyWest is shrinking. There is a shift from CRJ to Ejets that will continue as long as United as CRJ200’s and E145’s in their route system.

I can't count up all the bases Skywest has closed over the last ten years, 7? The biggest and most senior base, SLC has shrunk by 30% just over the last two years. Welcome to the regional world.

I doubt its getting that riled up. The only thing that you're doing by replying to it is making it feel like its voice actually matters. If anything, encouraging said complex.

Regarding CRJ growth, thank god. Zero reserves and more lines than pilots in a domicile isn't ideal. Bidding for a minimum credit/day load and getting 90 certainly isn't ideal either.

How many hours does SkyWest provide in training (sim or actual flying) that counts towards the ATP requirement?

I’ve heard (but been unable to verify) I could apply with 1475hrs (all flying) and the company does 25hrs of sims that count towards the 1500hrs for the ATP requirement. Also heard 10hrs mentioned. Can anyone clear this up?

Thank you!

It’s not SkyWest who determines how many hours you can or cannot use from sim. It is part of the ATP requirements. You can use 25 hrs towards your 50 hr multiengine time requirement.

They go by minimum FAR requirements, you need 25 hours in category/class, and can then credit 25 from sim training to get to the 50 required. It's on their website.

At moment I have 1000 multi-engine hrs and meet all the Cross Country/Instrument/night etc for ATP I’m just 50hrs short of the 1500 TT at the moment, which I will hopefully have before applying but just looking at worst case if my current flying suddenly stops (I fly something old and unreliable that doesn’t like winter weather!)

Sorry I’m being dumb but can’t see on the recruitment page anything on Sim time. I have seen in FAR you can count up to 100hrs in the Full Motion Sim so long as it’s 121 related, iv just no idea how much time you spend in the Sim in training which could count towards TT?

I’m hoping this will be a non factor, but thought I’d ask anyway.

Thank you for your replies.
