If you were trying to move something, trying really hard, is it not human nature to try and move it in the other direction? How easy would it be to move nose down at 400+ knots? Asking for a friend.

What is this theory based on? Boots on the ground reporting back to Boeing? This would be a game changer...

I remember for the longest time the Boeing crowd was against the Airbus crowd because of flight envelope protections and overriding the pilots, and how that on a Boeing the pilot should have (and HAS) the final authority.

...clearly that philosophy went away with the MAX 8 but no one at Boeing told any of the airlines or pilots!

You're saying they TRIMMED nose down? Where'd you hear that? If so... what a terrible, terrible mistake.

I just read this blog post a bit ago (link below). Perhaps there's scenario where they'd temporarily 'Elevator Nose Down' to help alleviate the forces on the jackscrew while they try to trim up....?

Boots on the ground and it would be a game changer but as you can see Boeing has been quiet. 2 reasons. There is an investigation and most companies stay quiet until the official report is released.

Now as for the second reason get your tin foil hat on. Boeing approved a 20 Billion dollar stock buyback this year. When announce in December Boeing was headed for a record high (not a good time to do a stock buyback). So now with all this bad news stock takes a hit... Buy the shares and when the dust settles and the final reports are released, giving us facts not reports... then worry about damage control. No need chasing your tail with every headline.

Ha! That’s quite the tin foil theory...but I wouldn’t put it past corporate greed.

Ethiopian is running the AG Barr playbook regarding slow release of potentially damaging info. This theory would certainly explain why.

Also on Wednesday, Bjørn Kjos, the chief executive of Norwegian Air Shuttle said in a series of posts on Twitter about the revised software that the new fix appears "foolproof." The software is believed to be a, or the, factor in the crashes of the 737 MAX in Ethiopia and Indonesia.

"I hope the regulators will have safety in focus as always and not be directed by politics. I will gladly take my family on board a Norwegian MAX," said the CEO, who added that he was in a MAX simulator and tried out updated and older version of the software "under a malfunction."
