I flew with one who brought his mail with him, and proceeded to hand write checks to pay every single bill. The stuffed and stamped the envelopes, all while we were in cruise.
Never seen anything like it. I haven’t paid a regular bill with a check in over a decade. Weird.

Only because they've instituted an online pqy fee, and if you have your bank send the check via online bill pay, if they dont have the stub from the statement, they send it back.
In the water/sewer case its the city not wanting/able to set up an online portal or a way to work with most bank's systems so it's a pass through that the bill pay contractor charges.
Natural gas is just another money grab by the gas company, that did make the news, was hidden in the fine print online, but was $2.93 or some other odd number. It might be free now but let them open my letter and process it.
Never do that in cruise though.

You SNAPs are going to look back in a decade (or less) and wonder how the the dudes sitting to your right can be so damn weird. Their wokeness will surpass yours by a huge margin and they'll regale you with stories that will make you wish you were flying with an geezer that tells you about his stupid boat. I'll grant you there are a few real outliers you might be dealing with right now, but you haven't seen nothin yet.

“There’s a storm a’comin!” Now I’m scared to upgrade. I like 99% of the cappys I fly with.
I’m senior to Zap, and his musings are sobering…especially the FO requal bit. You really have to retrain as an FO if you self-downgrade?!!! To control my training month, I was thinking of upgrading to the left seat and then next month bidding back to FO and clicking the lance box. Would this really trigger an FO schoolhouse trip? F that. No way.

They’re just lizards. They have that dead reptilian look in their eyes. You can find them hanging out by the heat lamp in the lounge with a three day old USA Today crumpled up in their claws. I suspect that’s what they use to make their bedding at the overnight. You’ll catch them in your peripheral vision earnestly trying to lick their own eyeball in between expounding on whatever conspiracy theory du jour you’re about to spend the next 72 hours learning about. They won’t retire if age 67 gets passed because this is the best part time job they’ve ever had and they’re pretty by the book and laid back.
