Default Why?

Why Southwest? Pay? QOL? Equipment? Culture?
I can't imagine why Southwest would be #1 on anyone's list when DL, AA, UA are hiring.

Got it. No need to care about those who have been riding the bottom of the list for two years now. I mean, they were just lucky to get hired by the best airline on Earth.

What is funny is I've received a number of PMs calling me out as being too optimistic. It's hard to achieve exactly the right balance of optimism/pessimism that is acceptable at APC

What about other airlines that we stapled with a gun to their head and stole captain seats from. How do you think it feels to be them. 717 was a great plane with window shades, barcoloungers and printers.

I am at the bottom of the list!

My juniority is huuuuge!

I’ll be at the informational pickets to complain about the company walking all over our contract, but you won’t hear me whining about being junior.

I'm not whining about being junior (I'm not). I'm not whining about upgrades. I'm pointing out that operational decisions, while not contractual, still have a significant impact on pilots. Just because the contract doesn't prohibit something, doesn't mean it's a great idea. I don't think shipping junior pilots all around the system in the best interest either the company or pilot group.

This will all be fixed when we hire 1500 pilots next year. But the scars from 1221, no covid CC pull, displacing FOs to the west coast, and so on will remain.

Kudos for planing on attending the informational pickets, see you there.
