The legacy I worked for had PBS. Spent years under PBS and 4 days off min wasn't an option. None of my friends at DAL,UAL or SWA of 4 days of min.

Exactly why 4 days off is cool- as an “option”’even COOLER....

I was at a Major with PBS for several years....
I’m pretty happy with our “mix....”

Thank you! I’ve never understood why everyone’s so crazy about the 4 days off. If we had a higher min day off it wouldn’t matter so much.

Sure, the top 400 out of 2000 pilots haven't forgotten. Most of us weren't here. (This is not a knock on those guys, I have nothing but respect for what they did and never hesitate to tell them so.)

Wasn't that part of managements' strategy with this contract? Wait until there's a big enough percentage of "This is the most money I've ever seen!" guys who will out-vote those who "haven't forgotten?"

As for me, a long drive commuter, I'd love more than anything to not waive my (5)4 days, but if I have to do so to avoid Reserve, or hotel rooms, then I guess I will. It remains to be seen personally.

Pretty much half of SWA has 4 days off, schedule integrity plus 17 days off average = half the pilots work 3 on 4 off....

Hope next cycle we can trade 5 off (reducible to 4) to "average days off for hardlines is 17" (or even 16 or 15, still would be an improvement )

Will be hard to trade for "average days off for hardlines" when we don't have hardlines in 2 months.

But I get your point. Average days off is a good measure to keep the company from ****ing people. but with PBS average days off doesn't work, we really need min days off at 15 or 16.

Maybe a definition thing, but AFAIAC we will still have hard line in two months, it is what you get with "award pairings". It is easier with line bidding as opposed to working with a credit window, I agree (build a line with trips, doesn't get guarantee, bump it up to guarantee), so maybe minimum days would work better, but right now every line could have 12 days off and be compliant, and I am sure that would be unacceptable to all of us.

No. Hard lines refers to prebuilt Lines with no preassignnents or knowledge of what your past flying history was. There are no hard lines with PBS.

And the minimum days off is 13 by the way. Who keeps spouting 12. That's reserves in 30 day bid periods only

You are right, it 13. And absent a definition of hard line in section 2, I think we can disagree forever about hard versus regular. The point was what we have isn't good enough, and I would think that is more important.

At Delta: "Set Condition Minimum Base Layover 96:00" = 4 days off between rotations; obviously customizable to the hour. I hope that's an option available to Spirit also.
