So about that email yesterday about crew bases.
was he trying to say if somebody leaves a base that’s being reduced it will shrink with it?
For example let’s say 5 ORD skippers leave for ATL, then ORD will shrink by 5 captains?
or are they contractually obligated to backfill those five positions? couldn’t really tell what he was getting it.

Wasn’t entirely clear but I think you’re correct. Organic reduction. “reductions will only occur where vacancies are created in a domicile due to a pilot leaving the company.”
Maybe the MEC will send a clarification email?

Sounds like the company is circumventing voluntary and involuntary displacements. This might save money and not hurt anyone but feels like non-compliance with the CBA.
