Anyone in here recently left Spirit after holding a line in base? I have a couple of legacy interviews coming up, but my life is really, really good thanks to our scheduling rules. I pretty much just drop everything, hang out with my newborn and pick up xlists.
Has anyone made the switch after living the good life here? Was it worth it? Any insight you might be able to offer would be appreciated.

Not bashing on you at all, I get it. But boy, if this doesn’t sum up an airline pilot I don’t know what does. “Everything is absolutely perfect. I should totally leave.”

Yeah. It's great. It's mostly a case of inconveniencing myself in the moment for the (hopeful) benefit of my future self. One of the biggest driving factors is not wanting to live in Chicago forever and our other bases not doing a lot to get me excited.
The other is that I don't think the dropping everything and listing premium gravy train will last forever, a JCBA might kill our scheduling rules and this might be the only chance I'll ever have to jump with no 121 PIC.
In response to the other guys, I'm ORD FO. No idea how I'm getting so successful on the drops. I bid weekends off so I'm not trying to drop over a weekend and that's it.

Addendum: And first year NK pay and benefits is shameful and NEEDS TO BE MASSIVELY INCREASED.

Everthing might change WITH ANY CBA revision ALWAYS for your entire flying career. It all depends on how well the pilot group uses their leverage which this cycle is huge and a must-pass JCBA magnifies it even more. In this environment there is absolutely no reason to expect the JCBA to contain the very best features of both the B6 and NK contracts PLUS a very healthy pay scale increase. If the pilots group settles for less, it’s on them, not management.

It really depends on the will of the pilot group to hold people accountable. The UA TA clearly demonstrates that.
Seniority cuts two ways, it empowers you but entraps you as well. We need to be a UNIFIED group, not every (gender of your choice) for his/her/their/it’s self.
That’s why we need to look after EVERYBODY in the JCBA, INCLUDING the new hires.
