Jet blue wants us now

I guess I just don’t quite understand how JB acquiring NK is good for anyone but those currently employed by JB. The 2 companies have completely different reasons for their success.
I came to NK because it was one of the few airlines that was organically growing. Expanding into new routes and adding new equipment to their system. The only reason for this growth is because of the unique business model and cost structure due to the incredibly efficient operation comparatively.
JB, with respect to organic growth, is very stagnant compared to NK. If JB acquires NK and turns us into the JB model, it will most certainly kill any of the projected future growth those of us at NK have been banking on. All of which is solely predicated on the growing ULCC model. Which NK has figured out how to execute very well.
Nothing personal towards B6 but man. This whole thing is a serious buzz kill for anyone looking forward to seeing new (additional to the fleet) aircraft and growing with the operation.

Well not to put another wrench in the plans apparently AS is going to offer cash to B6 to buy them according to someone in the know on the AS thread.

Well then you should be rooting for the F9/NK merger. If you think that trash talking would be epic, you’d have to see to believe the hair extensions and fake nails that would be flying during the in-fighting of our newly merged FAs! *sigh* One can dream…

Let’s see: get a non-competitor airline to overpay for and eliminate your only competition, then send you $100 million because Spirit backed out of your deal.
Pure brilliance by Indigo.
Here’s some good reads for you.

B6 is almost twice the size of NK, has more aircraft on order, more fleet types, more bid categories, business class, trans atlantic routes, slots in really expensive airports; JFK, DCA, LHR.
B6 is spending 3.9 billion to build 9 wide body gates at JFK. You don't spend that much coin for codeshare partners to park their planes out back. It's a huge win for NK pilots, and the new airline is going to be really impressive. Closest thing there will be to a 4th legacy carrier.

I maybe in the minority , but I want nothing to do with JetBlue merger. Respect the company and product. Have many friends there. But looking 5,10 years down the road I think F9 and the potential of the ULCC power it could be makes the most sense. B6 will be stagnation station. I think the Cultures, product, business model is so divergent it makes so little sense to me. I think the chance of a getting B6 approved is small.
much smaller than F9. My Guess we will turn down the offer and go worth the original F9 for a multitude of reasons. And I think that’ll be the right move. That’s my prediction. Guess we shall see

B6 and NK are both roughly 20 years old.
