Looks like Airbus has officially launched the A321 variant with 4,000 miles range. This could open a lot of possibilities.

I didn't take a snapshot of my vote...because that doesn't really prove much since you can vote one way only to go back and resubmit in the opposite direction later (only the last vote counts).

But I'm an 'against' the LOA voter. It's close, but the LOA needs further refinement before I'm going to the 'for' camp.

I'll say this about line bidding vs. PBS since I've done both and since you guys are discussing it:

I like PBS better. You've got alot more control of your schedule. The min days off, I don't think, should factor in to your thought process too much because if that's what you want, then just bid that way. You want only commutable trips, bid that. You want only day trips, bid that. ...etc....

I definitely favors seniority more, and since I'm senior in my seat, I'm probably biased. Then there's the obvious negatives, transition conflicts and such. But as someone said, how many guys does that work for and do you have to bid a line you really don't want to make it work. No vacation touching drops either. Although a nice thing about PBS is that if you want to go do something and don't have vacation, just bid for 5,6,7...10 days off in a row. You'll work hard the rest of the month but if you really want the days off, it's doable.

At the end of the day, PBS is still technically a concession as it benefits the company manning-wise. So if you go to it, make sure you get something(s) good for it and doing it while you're growing helps too. It got forced on us during bankruptcy with guys furloughed. Don't get me started on that one.

Last thing, you were talking about daily guarantee. Ours is an Average Daily Guarantee (ADG). Meaning the trips have to average 5:15 per calendar day. So 30 hr layovers don't hurt you. There are some carve outs for stuff that finished between midnight and 2am, I think, and for trips that start very late. I can't remember the specifics off the top of my head. A min calendar day would be better than an average, so keep that in mind, but average is not too bad.

Have a look at the article from Leeham.

Airbus has this as a two class 206 pax at 97 tonnes MTOW.

How many seats would a ULCC want?

Yes. Email crewplan. They'll fix it. You do still work here.

Azul is opening up Europe from Brasil with their 350's. Their 330 to FLL is packed.

Norwegian is flying 787's packed to the gills.

I know we've got some 500 untapped markets here domestically, but I see nothing but possibilities across the pond and below the equator...

There would be so much work involved going trans Atlantic, I doubt it is in the cards.

What are the markets going south from FLL and IAH not currently served?

4000 nm with 2 cabin 206 seats 97 tonnes MTOW.
