The more I think about the more I think some of us are being pretty harsh. Comparing our current rates to the recently ratified legacy rates is like comparing a 2015 corvette ZO6 to a early 2000s C5 ZO6. CALS 1st year rate was $29/hr when our current contract was signed.

Patience everyone, pattern bargaining remember

Maybe a better analogy for those who have no clue what letters like C5 and ZO6 mean, it's like an IPhone 1 compared to an IPhone 6

I prefer the Boxster to a GT3 analogy myself.

Mega-Awesome!

It's a long YouTube video, but the exhaust sounds at the end make it all worth it!

They can title it "Pilot Education on Contract Negotiations," "A Brief History of Contracts," or "Wake up people, we are close to the bottom"...I dont care. Im glad it is out there and I hope to see more of them.

You are right Juice. A 12 year pay scale is industry standard. Why should guys wait for 3 extra years to get the top rate?

This is exactly right. As recent as a year and a half ago I was jumpseating on America west and the pilots were saying how our pay scale was better than theirs and way better than the east.

Not to diminish the sense of urgency in getting some while the get is getting got industry wide, doe.

Quite true, but the prospective new hires that read this thread over recent years could very well have expected that $38.50 x 120 was easy to do.

For a Major ULCC to pay that low first year just isn't right. That has to be fixed.
