Spirit of NKS
I honestly think the MEC should pursue it that way the FLL captains could see it's not the MEC that's against them but it's themselves that are against the pilot group. They all think the MEC and negotiating committee are conspiring on ways for them to make less money.

Or even better the 4yr captain that has to credit an extra 42hrs (not dollars but hours, it's over an $80/hr discrepancy) to close the gap.
And don't give the argument that there won't be 4 year captains at the legacies because there absolutely will be 4yr narrow body captains in a couple years
Or the three year FO that has to credit an extra 50 hrs. That's right a three year AA narrow body fo make the same as a 4 year spirit captain.
All this not counting 16% of wages 401k contribution, not match, compared to our 9% capped at $18000 next year
I don't think anyone wants you to make less money we just want you to get it without constantly stalking flica for precious open time.

Yea, that story brings tears to my eyes, but remember that the MEC has been hunting OT flyers without a contract that provides a fair base pay. So what's your point?

Fair is a pretty loaded word. The contract was very competitive when signed in 2010. And either way, the contract was ratified by a large majority of the pilots so they must have felt it was 'fair'. Regardless, those 'OT Flyers' do not exist in a vacuum. Their actions have consequences that negatively impact others on the seniority list.

Very few that voted for contract 2010 felt it was fair. The were reacting to the terrorist threats of the negotiating committee and MEC when they threatened to quit, if it was voted down. Sort of like a robber saying, " your money or your life"
Pieces of sheet like CC and Kiwi are just a small group. CC has such a sense of entitlement that he uses a handycapped parking sticker so he doesn't have to hunt for a spot like us, even though he clearly holds a first class medical. Hard to believe but it says a lot about him.

I don't think anyone is hunting OT flyers. As I've said before I try to fly lots of OT but it's fukcing exhausting. I'm just starting to get really irritated that we had a room of guys show up to argue about who can pick up what open time and when, when we are in negotiations for a new contract where we have unprecedented leverage for more compensation. There is a whole forest of money trees yet this group continues to fight over who gets to take home the pathetic Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Open your fukcing eyes people. Members of the negotiating team were there but instead a precious meeting was wasted on this piece of **** resolution instead of maybe talking to them about a new contract. Beyond frustrating!
