I get it now. Well played. For the sake of repeating myself I'm glad the charges were thrown out. We are 3 weeks from an expired contract, while working for one of the most profitable airlines in the world. Now we can move on. If there's there much of a split of the pilot group, elections will be held within next twelve months so engage your reps accordingly

Very disappointing.

Call me a sell out if you want but the way I look at it if we get pay parity with delta, United and American and keep our work rules, I'd say that would be a success. We're a much smaller airline, not near as established as the legacies. I'd take pay rates equal to American with our work rules, deltas profit sharing and uniteds retirement. What's wrong with that?

And we got another update on Ackerman's upgrade progress! I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting to hear about his first landing from the left side! How exciting!

The problem is the "pathway" part. Aiming for industry average at DOS +4 is not what we want.

I feel the same way. I wanted to reach through the phone and choke him. Parity at DOS!!!

The Mesa way of thinking, always happy being last place.

Contract '10 was essentially a path to parity in the pay dept at dos +4. Where do we stand with that? One of the lowest paid airbus operators because the standard was raised again while Spirit pilots were on their "path". That's not pattern bargaining. That's always being one cycle behind and chasing "parity" forever. It must be achieved at DOS.

And I haven't verified the term being negotiated but why in earth would we sign a 4-5 year contract that turns into 7-8? 3 years max. Why lock in for the long run when airlines are making record profits. If for some reason things get bad nothing stops management from coming to the piggy bank to ask for some money mid contract so what's the incentive for a long term deal? None.
