"The United States Department of Transportation defines a major carrier or major airline carrier as a U.S.-based airline that posts more than $1 billion in revenue during a fiscal year.[1] The term "major carrier" or "major airline" can also refer to traditional legacy carriers, distinguishing them from startup and low-cost carriers."
Thanks for the technical definition. Yes Spirit is a major airline by DOT standards, but it has become clear that the Legacies are operating more of a network clearly aimed at capturing business and high yield travelers and fill the plane at the margins.
The LCC's seemed to be focused on the leisure markets and budget travelers. OK, NK grew fast during the last $80-$100 oil spurt, but we'll see if that happens again.
IMO, bottom line is the LCC's will start to collide with each other at some point (especially if you throw in SWA which seems to be trying to get out of the LCC game and more into the network game) and that will lead to mergers/buyouts which seldom leads to explosive growth.
Best of luck.

Back in the day, I would preload my OT requests on to PF function keys before OT opened

I.e. F1 would = HT^eHTO/A/21997/10OCT^eHTMD^eHZ
And similar for the other trips trades or pickups I wanted loaded in function keys f2, f3, etc and so forth.

As soon as daily open time opened, I would just push F1 the F2 all the way until I had all of my trip trade requests in. By 0:02 after OT opened I had 8 of my requests in and of course since it was faster than everyone else manually typing in their OT/TT requests. I ended up getting them all approved.

Disturbing letter from Negotiating Committee

Let me see if i got this straight.

1. Early this year they tell us they are beginning early bargaining and will only focus on a few key areas such as pay, retirement, and benefits.

2. They give progressive updates saying they are making great progress.

3. Several reps indicate privately that a deal is imminent and be ready for a TA real soon.

4. Yesterday they tell us that there is no further progress due to disagreements on pay, retirement and benefits.

Well someone is a liar. Does that makes sence to anyone? We are clearly not in the final phases of a contract. We are just beginning.

I call for the immediate termination of Matyas, Slotten and Morrison. Nothing will be lost as they have accomplished nothing.

Since it appears to be legal, I'll just have to get a bot to bid open time for me.

So...you get new people, they don't get what you want immediately and you terminate them, so on until you run out of people or time.
First disagreement and get rid of them, they bring a TA not up to par then terminate them.
Do you think it may be posible that the company changed some terms, asked for concessions "i.e. Scheduling, transition, insurance, etc" and your NC says "not good enough" .

Just relax, give it time.

Agreed, the n/c just stated they refuse to take a subpar deal early. Why remove them?, makes zero sense

+1

I'm pleased they're not releasing some sub-par POS that has substandard rates/language, that may or may not be approved, just because there is such a large disparity between others contracts out there.

The last thing we need is an attitude of 'well it's good enough until I can find another job I like' contract.

Keep fighting!
