The bases at this company can come and go. The way it was explained during the interview was that whatever market is profitable, then that's where they will go. In other words, if Chicago takes off and becomes an integral part of the operation, then it might come at the expense of another base. This is a hypothetical situation, but realistic at that. I don't think it is something that will happen overnight, but maybe over time.

-Type of flying is mixed, but I don't think they do any central and South America stuff, except a they flight to CUN.

As a reference, DFW and ACY are the initial destination for new hires, but they move out as quick as people upgrade and new vacancies come out.

I'm not based in DTW, maybe some of the guys that are based there can give you an idea or trend on how the trips are build.

About DTW closing or being stable, well there are not current indications of closing, then again, as Norman mentioned, DFW is the growing mushroom and the rest is as stable as this industry can be.
There were "RUMORS" about closing for a long time, they come and go.

I just randomly picked 3/11 OW non-stop to the same destination on Travelocity. It shows Sprit at $118 and Delta and JB at $124. BUT, if you go to the individual websites, Spirit is $69, Delta and JB are $124.

I've always found that the Company's sites are usually cheaper than those discount fare finders.

FLL-BWI us 53.90 Tranny next with 68.90

If Delta is matching or beating our price, I guarantee you, they are taking a loss. We are tiny. We can't get into a war with Delta. This is nothing new. May be next for sale are the LGA slots. They are worth a ton of money, and we can use that money for expansion. We pulled out of DCA, sold the slots to SW, went to BWI. Sounds good to me.
Bingo-if you think the majors will let spirit get to the point that they drive fares and control markets, ala the "luv effect", you are smoking some good stuff. At some point, revenue management at entrenched airlines will put the hammer down.

Huh? I just looked. The fare is $138 on the spirit air website. More than the others.

Curious as to why you have all of a sudden become interested in Spirit in the last two days? You post an article, then are amazed at our fees and prices but haven't had anything interesting to say. We are apparently doing something right. If you want to pick a fight start another thread. This is supposed to be where people come to get info on us. The latest news is we posted a $20 million profit and it doesn't matter if you can't figure out how we got there.

No, it's $69 and I am looking at it as we speak,; there is a sale on and a discount is applied.

Lol-I see what you are looking at. You have to add the "fuel" and "Government's cut" to get the $138.

No, total fare. You can argue with yourself as I have better things to do.
