Im quite sure you would be screaming bloody murder if the company violated the CBA and caused you some harm, yet you dont seem to be bothered when the company turns a blind eye to the CBA if it puts more money in YOUR pocket. Its a bit naive of you to think that doesnt affect any of your fellow pilots.

My point on you volunteering is this...If you believe the MEC or elected LEC reps are not representing the pilot group properly, and you also believe that your opinions regarding our "oppressive" union are true and shared by the majority, why not run for an elected position. You'd surely have a enough votes to get elected, right??
It's easy to point fingers. We all do it. But I agree with Scott, participation its a huge portion of this system. If we thought this was such a bad place, with such a bad contract, what are we doing here?, why are we getting "veteran new hire" pilots flocking this way?, can't blame "nobody's hiring" anymore!....

I'm pretty sure that the other options, (non union) carriers would not make any "ex NK" pilot's carrier any easier or better for that matter.

We visited this stuff several times after the contract, nothing to see here, move along and get ready for the next one.

This is my 4th union airline, and it's the first one that says to the pilots that even if it makes your life better, and you approve, you may not violate the contract. It's madness if you ask me, but it is what it is.

Because it's just that!, a contract.

Agreed in concept. But PLEASE, change your verbiage. Trust me, you don't want to give up limits on junior assign. You DO want to allow unlimited premium pay.

It is likely that our prohibition against true junior assignment is the most unique part of our contract.

We don't need to take any chances with changes to the junior assignment language.

There was an attempt made about three years ago to present a resolution at FLL to propose a return to unlimited premium pay, but it fell apart. Part of the reason it failed to gain traction was specifically that it was originally written to eliminate limits on junior assign.

If you need more background, call me.

It should be 150% open time pick up and 200% JRM

Couldn't have said it better myself. As was once said, "Those who forget history are destined to repeat it".

I've worked for the airline that had unlimited JRM; I lost dinner dates, days off and family trips. I will NOT support any type of language that allows for that type of stuff here.

I DO, however, feel I should be able to voluntarily work any extra I damn well please.

LOL, I lost a couple of friends over that resolution. They just couldn't understand why I didn't support it. I eventually helped re-write it but the damage was done.

I believe that most of us agree with that statement, it is why we do what we do.
Perhaps on our next contract some of the OT language (pay) will change for the better...but I think that we can only get there working all together rather than this "pro-against contract" groups we created.

It would be nice to pick up OT at 150%, and I can't, and I don't feel the need to insult the work or ethics of our union reps (pro-against contract)I wasn't there the moment that card was played, with that said, if they do something out of line, by all means we all should call it out. These group of guys work as hard as the previous and I'm sure the new up and coming teams will do the same. We still know each other pretty well, we aren't a 12000 pilot airline.

Just my dumb opinion.
