-As far as QOL goes, living in base makes a huge difference but QOL has been absolutely stellar! Sure we need to improve a bunch of things contractually (Pay, tighten up language, retirement) but the day to day job/crews/airplane/Reserve rules etc are all great. (as far as comparing to other Majors/LCC, I have no idea)

-4 days off (supposed to be 5) other than during the transition is mandatory Sometimes ya even get 5 or 6, lol

Ive been here a year and 4 months, here is my August Schedule. (not much variety in Destinations out of ACY but I bid basically for days/weekends off)

Thanks for the info. Ya, nothing wrong with that. How was the training at Spirit? How long did it take? Do you get first year pay during training? Speaking of first year pay, what could one expect to make? I see the info on APC but how accurate it that?

Training is as you'd expect at any other airline. It's fast paced, firehose, but if you put in the time studying, you'll have no problem. The guys who have a problem with the training are the guys who decide that hanging out on the beach ALL the time is more important.
Training pay is $1000/month, with $750 per diem, hotel provided. Training pay continues until finished with IOE. This is about 2.5-3 months. After it's $38/month. First year is pretty tough, without doing anything extra, you can expect take home around $26-30K from day one to day 365, depending on taxes and healthcare coverage.
Year 2 is much nicer!
Spirit is hiring like gangbusters, it's a good time to get on board.

DTW: 5/2004
FLL: 11/2007
ACY: 8/2011
Overall: 11/2011 on the last seniority list, but it may be 12/2011 now.

Default 2015 negotiations.

Is SPA gonna set a forum that we can go and discuss negotiations or we have to become members of the spirit pilot web board, since some of "us" have issues on this board?

....I know, I know, go ask the union reps...I'm very lazy.

Just about everyone in my class finished training, including IOE, in two months or less.

"Fast paced" is a good description. Blink and you'll be on the line before you know it.
