Spirit of NKS, Part II
#1031
I'm not gonna vote no without seeing what's in it, I think that's pretty ridiculous. That being said, with the amount of profits spirit is generating AND the amount of money the execs are making, it's gotta be a pretty good contract for me to vote yes. But all we have are rumors unless someone has seen a TA, we're all just making stuff up.

The rumors are nothing more than expectation managers. That way when you beat the rumors it seems like a good deal when in fact it is not. From the rumors I've heard it would have to crush those numbers to even get consideration.

You all talk a good talk.. But the sad part is if there is a TA and subsequent road shows to educate about said TA, you probably won't show up. Then if it passes all you're going to do is complain about said TA for the next 5 years. Hope you all filled out your apps months ago.

Yeah it still won't be very easy to get on with AA or DAL. They have a ton of flows for a very long time

Both the amount and quality of applicants has noticeably decreased. With the hiring up to 32 a month puts a strain on the recruitment process for individuals that don't have skeletons in the closet. the attrition this year has been the most they have seen in years. Mostly first year guys. it's starting to be noticed at the management level. Maybe a new contract would change that. Maybe not though
Like I have said before, if you don't have your app out at a legacy, you are doing yourself and your family a disservice.
I think many will be disappointed in what is presented to this pilot group in regards of compensation.

Do you have any numbers on the attrition? Just wondering.

There's a growing sense of resentment and disillusionment among NK pilots. That interview is a 2 way street; a candidate asserts their conviction and faith in the company, only to see that commitment repeatedly dishonored.
The hiring stats are indicative; most regional captains no longer view Spirit as a viable career airline. Some are even reluctant to accept the job and are wise to assess the potential career impediment as it is likely better to beef up the legacy resume with Line Check Airman or other opportunities at their current airline.
Many of the best and brightest are leaving. I've come across two mil guys that are on their way out shortly. (I didn't even know we had that many mil guys here
)
Guys should direct their efforts towards DL and UA. AA won't be hiring much off the street until APR/MAY 2016.
