Management's two biggest concerns are keeping costs low and turning a profit. I'm gonna bet Delta and SWA end up approving a TA that has pay and retirment that's about what they were first offered. Scope may get fixed in the SWA contract. But we're all fools of we think management is gonna give pilots a big raise just because they're making big profits.
By that logic the legacies should never have gotten the huge contracts of the late 90s to 2000 but they did. Can they get them again? I don't know, but if you go into negotiations with the mind set that you wont make substantial gains then you wont.

Well, I'm not on the nc. I'm hoping we can get a big contract, but I just hope guys have tempered expectations. Unleash the Open Time wh***s!

No cannot pattern bargain off of agreements that don't exist yet but you can off of what's out there currently. It's called raising the bar not coming up half way to it. You go for industry leading now because hopefully another group will pattern off of you and bring up the bar again. You settle for middle of the pack today you will be at the bottom again tomorrow instead of the middle which is where you would be if you were at the top today. Let's stop riding everyone coat tails hoping to be 5th best and instead try being leaders for once.

I think they've believed that they would have a deal by the end of the next round of negotiations since aug 1. Message hast lost potency
