Your defense misses two things. One, this NC DOES have a history and that FAILURE. Two, the reason fhey lied about section six was because they THEY told us that section six was bad as they tried to work their interest based "focused" technique. They used the spectre of "Section SIX" ( say that in your best deep booming movie narrarator voice please) to scare us into accepting their "focused" tactic. "Focused" didn't work, scare tactic did. Hey, they did succed at something.
Oh and one more thing, I say that we have plenty of time to build a new NC. You just admitted that you were starting basically over didnt you.

We are all entitled to our opinions and I certainly respect yours but I agree with Wiz, with the exception that the "slope" needs to be fixed. I'm voting no if it isn't, along with every other junior/middle of the road Guy

I still say we need to decide to kick them all out AFTER a TA has been sent out for a vote. thats the only way we can truly see how well they've done doing the job. Let's get a new survey out to folks, the sooner the better and get this wheel rolling again. In the meantime, fly your contract, fly your line, no more, no less.

Why don't we try and do the same!
We shouldn't do the same because I don't want to spend our negotiating cap on getting the flight attendants a raise. Let them negotiate their own CBA.

I agree, let the FAs negotiate their own. We can support them and should support them, much much more than we did during the summer irop, but none of our negotiating should be done on their behalf.

I agree, Chimpy. After listening to the pilot call, I don't believe the slope will get fixed. I believe it was PS who mentioned the unfairness of giving the junior guys more money. I would counter with the fact the pay scale as it stands is unfair, as the more junior you are, the further you are from industry average.

I'm guessing we'll eventually get a TA that has a number of improvements for all, like long call reserve, LTD, scope, etc., but without fixing the slope. The union will try and sell it by saying that it's the best they can do, if you don't vote for this it could be years, and so on.

They need to have a number of questions on the survey about the slope, not just generic, "What is the minimum percentage increase you would accept?" kinds of questions.

I don't think it's that simple. The NC undoubtedly has a huge amount of influence over what the MEC decides in terms of direction. Sure the MEC has the final say but it is probably latgely based upon what the nc tells them.

Parity for all or it isn't parity at all

It's a shame that 10-15 Spirit pilots get on APC and try to discredit and destroy our NC and MEC and every action they take while giving absolutely nothing to the pilot group. If you guys think you can lead this ship better why not run for office? Why not become active in the union in some way? It's much easier to come on here and ***** and moan, blame everyone, call for resignations and spread misinformation huh?

I'm just a line pilot, I do my job and go home. I have given my leadership position in regards to our Spirit contract to my Union and have accepted my position is to follow them and to stay informed and help influence them. It seems most on APC think they are leaders and that they can do better, they know better, and that our leadership doesn't have our best interest at heart.

In reality all you guys do is hurt the pilot group by undermining our leadership and tearing down unity. Who's side are you on?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they said fixing the slope would prove too costly to the company, not that it would be unfair. I think that's a stupid argument and the slope needs to be fixed, but I'll be looking at how that slope affects me over the life of the contract before I automatically say yes or no. Someone brought up the great point that every month that goes by, more and more new hires become eligible to vote on a contract. They're not going to vote for a contract that doesn't improve their pay greatly. In fact, the majority of pilots have been here post-2010 and that number increases each month.

Plus, something that had me thinking. On the call they mentioned they were looking for top of pay rates at 12 years for both ca and FO, and the company responded with 13 captain, 10 FO. But the proposal had 15 for captain, 10 for FO. Did the nc misspeak or is the proposal wrong?

Hang on. A lot of people on this thread are on multiple committees and I/we also support our N/C, MEC etc. I just simply disagree with the idea that they can't fix the slope because it's too costly. One can disagree and still support the N/C. I, along with a few other pilots wrote a letter to our REPS, MEC and N/C last night. We don't just complain, we are trying to take some action.
