I'm no fan of the MEC.. But how can you just assume they knew what was going on from the very first acars? From all my experience this company has always been stubborn to say, "we got it, don't want your help" instead of volunteering any information to the union.
So I blame the membership for their failure to contact their LEC rep if they got a message.
And yes please do file an ASAP. Hopefully the FAA will how bad it really was and do something about it.

I'd just like to reach out to the team members, who went the extra mile for the team and filed their own flight plan. Thanks for taking part in Jyri's "dispatcher free airline" beta test!
Yes, that Scandinavian sure can come up with some brilliant ideas! We've also been talking to the Feds about replacing the FOs with a first year Riddle kid - ERU is all over it!!
So far, James has been very supportive of both ideas, as we continue to work towards an awesome contract for you guys.
High five guys!

Well Sky King, you are not trained and if you understand what 7.1 says in joint conjunction . Meaning they have to approve and be aware of what you file ,meaning a 3 way call. But the FAA said that no 121 scheduled airline can ask their pilots to file a flight plan because you have not been trained on how to file a part 121 flight plan. This ain't your daddies 172.
