Default December 12 Class

Asking on behalf of a friend that interviewed on March-14....

We know that some of the March-08 interviewees have been offered the December-12 class. Do any of you know if that class has filled up, or if any March-14 folks have been given a class date???

Any help would be appreciated,
Sam

That class is full. No future class dates have been announced. It's rumored that there was a larger number of furloughs coming back in that class so less newhires.

I counted 240 a couple weeks ago. So the DEC 5 & 12 classes are not included in that count.

Yeah, about 230, their rights to return expire in November 2019.

Based on retirements alone and zero growth united needs to hire 557 a year for the next 20 years. They're suppose to retire 11147 in that time. So, it may be slow and unknown right now but it's gonna have to start firing on all cylinders one day soon. At least I hope so! I'm ready to get started.

But the larger yearly retirement numbers don't start until around 2020-2022, I believe.

If you mean over 500 a year, yes. But we still retire more than a pilot a day between now and 2020 which means we should have 2 new hire classes each month with 15+ pilots in each one just to cover retirements. We are still getting 787s, 737 Maxipads, and those Chinese Airbus planes in 2018.
