except he won’t. He will get first year pay, and be on reserve the entire time. GLOBAL reserve. The only ones who get second year pay are the GUM pilots. The smarter play, for QOL, is to bid NB and leave all options open for vacancy bidding up to the WB after the first year is almost over. I’m sure this individual was made aware of all those facts, and still chose the WB due to personal preference. But it wasn’t for second year pay during the first year.

Think he means in his last year he’ll get 2nd year WB pay. Relax.

right. First year is same for everyone. This guy will have one more year at most and be done. So, may as well get 174 instead of 140.

In this specific case I am not sure that I would say that your suggestion would actually acheive better QOL. By doing what he did, this pilot will go through just one Transition Course and be able to do some WB flying for the last two years of his career. In your suggestion he would have to take a second transition course in order to get any WB flying. And if he really wants to do the WB flying, waiting to take a bid later could mean never getting sent to school and missing out on that WB flying entirely.

That being said, I think this is a very edge case of where I could see taking the 777/787 straight out of training be understandable.

Default How long to hear about CJO?

Hello all, I interviewed late last week and have yet to hear back. How long does it normally take for CJO’s to go out? I have heard of some going out the day of the interview. Since I haven’t heard, all I can expect is maybe they didn’t like what I said.

Probably the same qualifications as the other 63 people in class, seeing as he was hired...
