50% pay isn't accurate. 50% MPG is, and is a mixed bag. Yes, you are earning less, but you are also only working 7.3 days a month (assuming bottom 1/3 and working MPG and 5 hours a day). At 7 days a month, most of us will have plenty of time for a side hustle to make ends meet.

I would argue that what's good for the Goose is good for the Gander. If a Tiered Pay Scale is real, (God I hope not), then how about the top 1/3 get the 39 MPG. That would really save the Company some money!

Anything that comes out with a B and/or C scale is dead on arrival to me.

And I have been previously Furloughed by this company.

I had one that was hotter than a two-dollar pistol
She was the fastest thing around
Long and lean, every young man's dream
She turned every head in town
She was built and fun to handle, son
I'm glad that you dropped in
She reminds me of the one I loved back then

SK even has a name for it, “variability”. He has mentioned that this industry needs “variability” for the slow times. AKA migrant field workers. Don’t let him get away with this model. If we do this will set a precedent and we’ll be fighting this for the remainder of our careers.

kind of exactly like 76 seat RJ’s.

I will wait for the details to get pushed out to the pilot group before I make my decision on reduced MPG....

I'm concerned this maybe the beginning of the end for ALPA. Not happy with splitting the pilot group by 1/3s. The bottom 1/3 keep their jobs but get insulted with 39MPG. Why not have have a standard 50MPG across the group? Does ALPA always have to cater to the top 1/3 of the group?
